Unfortunately, I have to disagree with Bernie on the F-35 because that program and its cost overruns and its problem plagued issues have made this fighter jet a turkey just like the F-22 Raptor, which is now out of production because of its upkeep expense. Nonetheless, I'm still voting for Bernie because this one thing is not a deal breaker for me. I only wish he would reconsider his stance on the F-35 though.

***** Are you worried about jobs that create a lot of national debt namely the defense budget on a private contractor who hasn't delivered on the goods yet? These people don't know what they're doing. Look up the problem plagued F-35 and you'll see the problems this thing has. Some countries are now bowing out of purchasing this thing. It's that bad.

LaserBlowFish No. The F-35 is supposed to be optimized to be a multirole fighter, with the ability to perform air-to-air (dogfighting), air-to-ground and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) missions. It is good at none of these things. It is not stealthy when flying in rain, it is horrible at dog fighting because of the fat fuselage design which holds 2 missiles in a cargo bay underneath and a short wingspan. It's horrible at maneuvering, as a result. I could go on and on. Just Google "F-35 Failure" Thus far, this high tech jet has gone into cost overruns costing the taxpayer about 1.5 trillion dollars. Canada has bowed out of buying any of these as well as other countries. This is a pretty good article about the F-35: http://www.thefiscaltimes.com/2015/07/10/After-Flight-Test-Failure-F-35-Could-Be-Demoted-New-Defense-Chief The most recent report on the F-35: http://theweek.com/articles/605165/f35-still-horribly-broken
