  1. At zero relative airspeed the airfoil still has negative pressure on the front due to rotation. The pressure difference between front and back of airfoil is what drives car. Flat fans blades have horrible thrust. This is such a simple issue. Limits on speed are propeller efficiency, tire and transmission friction losses, and air friction losses (above wind speed).* The last is why car can move directly into wind but at lower speed.

  2. No, it's not pushing the air backwards that generated the most thrust, the vast majority of thrust is from the airfoil creating a low pressure area on front of impeller. Jesh, even the Wright Brothers figured out flat propellers are too inefficient, has education of PhD in physics and engineering gotten so bad no one can recall and calculate Bernoulli's Equation?
