Because the Trump memo/agreement for zElenskyi/Ukraine went far beyond Ukraine's mineral wealth, but also required Ukraine to turn over majority ownership of assets like Odessa Port, that the real function isn't to make money from Ukraine but to give the USA a "valid" reason for "sleazing" Russia's frozen oversea reserves and taking them away from the EU and putting them into US Treasury. When Russia takes these resources, then it gives a fig leaf to the sleazing of what would otherwise be a very nasty wakeup call to nations that still use US T-bills and deposits as backing for their own currencies. After all, development of resources by Western Capitalist methods requires long term stable peace, while the whole point of Ukraine is to create a festering sore on Russia's rump, ie: the mineral wealth thing is a head-fake.

  7. Interestingly, both Turkey and Israel were and still are sending arms to Ukraine. Probably on a cash basis, so again it was the USA and EU paying for it. So neither were exactly neutral, just mercenary or mercantilist. IMHO, Russian tends to pick mediators who have an interest in making money from continuing the war in hopes of having an ineffectual result. This thing will be decided on the battlefield.

It was designed to both distroy the American Social Welfare State and then corrupt China and bring it in thrall to Wall Street. The United States has not been a democracy since the destruction of the Articles of Confederation.
