  1. Pretty much agree on your China experience, up and down. I also agree with quite a number of your comments about your time in the USA, particularly in flyover country and in NYC. However, I think your last part about how good it would be to partake of Hometown living in the USA is probably missing some data from a long-term exposure. Also it's probably missing something because you're white. Even in California now there is a growing race-based backlash that is impacting the Asian community. For example some of the post on the new vaccine law had a significant traffic on Twitter from people bashing the scientist because they were Asian. I personally have had my family refused service in restaurants because my wife is Asian and my children have a very strong Asian feature to their looks. It gave me a good sense of just how much worse it must be for someone who is black. Then there's the extreme brutality which with the US government uses to put down the Occupy Wall Street movement, or anti-pipeline actions, and the pretty much daily murder by cop, also known as driving while black.
