commodity chips are in oversupply (memory, Intel/AMD CPU chips), but specialty chips from small foundries in some cases are still in very tight supply, hence issues with some unconnected things from automotive to PLC controllers. Not so much a money issue, as over rationalization of the market suppliers causing problems due to political interference in flow of intermediaries to chip foundries.
