@Erix442 How should we have helped you become democratic? Any way we tried to interfere would be seen as an aggressive political move, we would be accused of trying to install capitalist puppet government, taking advantage of fragile transition state after USSR collapse, to take over the country. It would have led to massive opposition if we tried to interfere in any way with you people restructuring your government into a stable, reliable democratic institution. Unfortunately, you didnt make it, but we just had to let you try and hope for the best. You may be able to try again after Putin, hes getting pretty old now. I wish you the best of luck.

@rbgerald2469 I remember in the 90s that the ISS was seen as a big step forward, hope that peaceful cooperation would be possible and that we could set aside our differences to pursue our place among the stars together. That science and prosperity would win out vs landgrabbing and power projection. The nuclear reduction treaties gave a similar feeling. We are now in an age where the nuclear treaties are being unratified and the ISS is about to drop out of the sky with no further space cooperation in sight. A sad time indeed.

@RoseNZieg People complain about the prices of everything and then they go out and pay 15 bucks for a small dessert, 7 for a glass of wine and 5 for a coffee. If you dont like the price, stop complaining and just dont buy it. Companies only can afford to charge ridiculous amounts for stuff because there are people with poor impulse control who just buy it anyway.

@nikolakaravida9670 I've interacted with a lot of Russians in counter strike, they are mostly pro-war and believe the propaganda. These are the young guys who are lucky they can still play video games instead of holding a rifle on the front line and getting dronestriked. They will repeat talking points about how Ukraine forced them to invade because they were going to join NATO and that euromaidan was an american operation and that the ukrainians are the ones bombing their own hospitals, etc. I wouldnt want to have a drink with such people, i am forced to play a video game with them which is already bad enough but i would not be able to play the game at all if i disconnected every time I had a Z ruski on my team. They dont even understand why other European people dislike them, their view is that whatever they do in Ukraine is their business in their house and we shouldnt be bothered by it. The fact that committing violence on this scale in Europe is frowned upon doesnt occur to them. All the other countries got together and said "never again" after WW2, so France, Germany, Britain, they stopped trying to fight each other over territory appeoximately once every 30 years or so and got to grown-ups business, but in Moscow they didnt get the memo that we were moving on from imperalism. The people in that country still have an imperialist mindset and until they grow out of that collectively by sheer war exhaustion, things will not get better.

Were you also criticizing your own side when for 30 years they sold out the country to foreign investors and imported hundreds of thousands of unemployable people from other continents that basically destroyed our social welfare system and safety nets? Or are you only critical against your political opponents? The only reason we have this "right wing" government now is that the establishment politicians have been far too greedy and incompetent for far too long while international effects reduced our purchase power and economic position in the world. We used to be pretty much the richest country on the planet in the later 20th century with the highest wages, the most trade profit, huge foreign assets, with very low debt, and now we are much less than that. Long-term economic downturns and loss of purchase power for the working class, leads to reactionary movements. Those people arent wrong. They have been shafted for decades while the few rich get richer and the politicians buy nice houses and other things with the money they get paid to sell out.

@ViTT-t6t Well unfortunately these days a lot of Russian spies are trying to get into our companies especially into their IT systems so yeah not hiring you is a necessary safety measure, I dont want any of you anywhere near our critical infrastructure, because lets be real would you not pull the plug if Putin was holding your family at gunpoint back home?

@Reality_TM If AfD is astroturfed then why dont the Germans simply do something to curtail migration and watch the support for the party disappear in one year? Its a win-win, less drain on the economy from unemployable people and you wont have to worry about the "right wing extremists" anymore.
