This is the consequence of the standards increasing. As the bar continues to be raised, less and less men qualify, following a logarithmic curve. Once upon a time it was the top 20% of dudes who could get around. Then it became 10%. Then 5%. In 2023, it was 1-2%. This year it will be 0.5%. Most dudes who were slaying it 5 years ago, arent getting any anymore, they fell off the bottom of the scale into the invisible category, as the standards increase. And the shrinking group who does qualify, only has so many hours in a day, and also can afford to have higher standards on average.

How it works is that they are looking for a situation where they can have a higher standard of living than they had growing up with their parents. That desire doesnt account for the cost of living or negative wage growth adjusted for inflation. They simply want more than they had and wont settle for the same or less. For most of human history this has been a realistic way for them to operate. But now, during the decline, it is not, and they cant adjust their strategy because its not based on logic or reasoning, its based on instinct, and you cant change that on a short timescale, it takes millions of years of evolution to change that.

Exactly 1 guy i know is married. Nobody else. Ive had one girlfriend over the last couple years and she left after 6 months because I didnt spend enough money on her. They all want the tiktok lifestyle. Thats fine with me, as long as they pay for it themselves. Im not gonna.

Meanwhile those guys with 4 kids, stuck in a miserable marriage, have to work more and pay more than you and theyre thinking, that guy has the life I want. Maybe you need some hobbies besides working and paying taxes. I like cooking and collecting antiques. Other dudes like motorcycles or kite surfing. Theres plenty of things to do. You might even meet some new people to hang out with instead of sulking around at home alone.

If you dont like the way the game is played, its better not to play than to make yourself feel miserable by forcing it. I dont like the way I have to behave in order to get their attention, how i need to treat them in order to keep them in line, and looking at the cost/benefit ratio, its not worth it. It costs me a piece of my soul every time i have to lie or manipulate, and what do i get in return? a half-eaten sandwich that a bunch of other guys have spat on.

@PassportBrosBusinessClass Yes, landlords are part of the problem. So are the banks, investment firms, insurance firms, and pension funds. If I want to buy a house Im not just competing against other peoples money. Im competing against my own money being invested "for me". Of course, I have no illusions, there wont be any pension funds when I get to retirement age. Not enough working age people left to keep that system working. They will all go bankrupt despite their efforts to extract more profit from us.

High status/rich men have assets and a reputation to protect. Its difficult to find someone to date even casually who doesnt pose a risk. Thats not even mentioning the chances of catching STDs from them.

Even if you magically find a "good" one, the shadow of divorce will still hang over your marriage like the sword of Damocles and you will have to walk on eggshells and keep playing silly games for the rest of your life so she doesnt get bored and kick you out of your house that you paid for and not allow you to see your kids. Until the legal framework for relations between the sexes is drastically revised, Im not committing to anything. Its a bad deal.

@nocturnaljoe9543 Thats not true though. No one was sent away. Sure, lots of guys get rejected every time. But wmn still want them to try, give them attention and pay for stuff. Guys are walking away from trying. Partly because the supposed "reward" at the end of having some bedroom fun time or maybe a longer relationship with some real intimacy, has been replaced by risk of catching disease and in longer term relationships getting played, cheated on, and if you are stupid enough to get married, divorce and lose all your assets. It isnt as simple as Chad and Tyrone not being able to cover everything either. The standards keep going up, every year the amount of men that are considered "good enough" shrinks by 50%. Most guys who had lots of options a few years ago, are now also in the rejection bin. Last year only 1% of men were considered good enough to date. This year it will be 0.5%. Next year 0.25%.

I remember when I was 15-16 in school I saw girls in my class get picked up by dudes in their early twenties that were obviously losers, scraggly beards and beat up honda civics. I found it disgusting then, and once I was in my twenties I couldnt even imagine going after jailbait like that. If thats what people wanna do, they can do it without me.

@MikeG82 Being able to control your wants and your instincts is what makes a boy a man. You are in control with logic and reason. Not led by instinctual desires. Philosophers have been saying that for thousands of years. Being young and having hormones is no excuse for making silly mistakes like getting married twice. It is maybe an excuse for chasing after poon, most guys get tired of that after a while anyway.

Banning privately owned websites that have been proven to cause great material and immaterial harm to society does not restrict free speech. Anyone can still go on the internet and express their opinions, just like people did before anti-social media was invented. IRC chats and forums dedicated to specific topics worked fine in the year 2000.

@simonb4689 Why call it BS? Divorce rates in western countries are between 50 and 70%. At best, half of the couples that do stay together are happily married. So there is your 1/5 chance. And thats not just internet talk either. I see it in my personal life. I dont know many married men, most are single or divorced, but the few that I do know, all say the same things. Its not worth it. You will be miserable. Dont move in together. Just have some casual fun and keep your freedom. Im going to listen to those guys, theyre older and wiser than me. And Im going to trust the statistics. Just last year I watched it happen to one of the owners of a company I worked for. He was mid thirties, earning boatloads of money. Married with 2 kids. Of course, thats prime divorce material. So of course, it happened. She left him, he came to me for advice because I had mentioned to him that my parents split in the past. I had to explain to him how to deal with it in a way that would least harm his kids. And this dude was definitely top of the bill. Business owner, very charming and outgoing guy, in great shape, handsome. Only remark was that he wasnt 6 foot tall. But she still wouldve left him if he was taller.

Just had one of these last week, parked in front of my house and let her dog piss against my property while i was standing there having a smoke. Had to use all restraint I had not to kick that little gremlin to the afterlife. Told her to gtfo and she started unloading on me. I closed the door and got a bucket of water. Yes, its because of social media. Its global. its happening the same in every country. In India, in Brazil. I dated a girl from the Philippines last year. She had tiktok brain as well.
