Not enough people to fill stores with food, to maintain the electric grid, water supply, gas mains, oil pipelines, maintain bridges, roads and railways. This will lead to societal collapse. The rot has already set in. Most infrastructure in western countries is decades old and poorly maintained. There arent enough skilled workers to repair it. Thats the result of your competitive system. We used to have a solution for this which was social pressure on young people to partner up with someone available at their level, aka what people now call "settling". But those days are gone.
