@tomigun5180 People like to think that an eye for an eye is no way to run a society, but really its the only way to hold people responsible for their behaviour.

I dont get why its such a big deal he used his own money. The man was a multi-millionaire before, with more money than anyone can spend in a lifetime, and he still is. Its not like hes Kevin Smith using all his money to make Clerks out of love for filmmaking. This is a rich old man who is concerned about leaving a legacy when he exits this world and turns to dust like we all do. That isnt a humble sacrifice. Its vanity.

Hes still rich. I would respect it if he made an actual sacrifice that would impact his life.

@montarakid1943 oh no, he will have to sell some of his several million dollar mansions if these movies dont do well! poor guy. meanwhile i cant even afford to buy a 1 bedroom apartment. the poor soul. i really feel for him.

I just wish people would simply make one movie with a story they want to tell, and then maybe sequels if its a hit and everyone involved in the project wants to return, instead of planning out 3 or more movies from the start and then ending up telling no story in the first movie, its just a vehicle to set up plot points for the sequels. If thats the story you want to tell, why not just skip part 1 and start in medias res?

@charmingcloud4099 yeah if you're not doing it by having children, or as a selfless act, it's just a brick in the shrine you build for yourself before you turn to dust like all of us. I think the bible is pretty clear on self-aggrandisement.

@wyldhowl2821 No, he probably bought a bunch of real estate and made other investments so his net worth would be way higher than that. Just sell one LA mansion or one of his ranches and there ya go got your movie financed. What a brave and noble man to sacrifice so much to make a movie starring himself for us plebeians.
