Every couple months there is another huge breakthrough reported in some field like the ones mentioned in this video, cold fusion, room temperature superconductors, some form of free energy, super strong materials, etc. Anyone who has any familiarity with the scientific process knows to just hold your horses and see if the study can be replicated in independent trials. Sometimes, it turns out to be correct. The LK99 thing wasnt, but there have been breakthroughs in superconducting materials in the past decades. When carbon nanotubes were discovered, a lot of people also thought it was bs. You simply cant know before people put in the work to verify the claims.
Also, with video editing and AI systems being abundantly available right now, you probably shouldnt trust a video that shows a levitating rock, just saying.

@vidal9747 you are right, my objections are not scientific in nature, they are moral and ethical and social in nature. i wouldnt want to live in a world where we kill embryos to heal sick people that should have died already if they werent artificially kept alive and in pain by modern medicine. id rather see us try to improve the quality of life for our children instead of eating them for our own benefit.
besides that, there is a whole nother can of worms to consider around stem cells such as the remote possibility that people who are not sick or dying of cancer, could use them to extend their lifespans with it as well, possibly indefinitely. i dont think we should be messing around with that. people are supposed to grow old and die so that a new generation can take charge and lead their communities. longer lifespans just lead to societal stagnation, as we are currently seeing in the west with a bunch of 70 to 80 year old boomers who havent understood what is going on since the year 1960 clinging on to power even if it drives us off the cliff economically and socially. imagine having 200 year old boomers in your parliament, writing laws you have to follow. i would quite literally start a civil war to prevent that from becoming reality, and i wouldnt hesitate a second or feel bad about it for half of one.
and then theres the emotional argument that it just feels wrong to me, just like im opposed to abortion for the same reason. im not religious, this is purely a secular opinion that i have on the value of human life.
