  2. This is an existential conflict. Neither side will stop until the others are dead, or leave and never come back. This has been obvious for decades. The arab nations around Israel do not want an Israeli state to exist and Israel wants all the land that their god supposedly gifted them thousands of years ago. I dont see how this is news to anyone.
