  2.  @HorbachenkoVlad  chinese economy is already larger than USA, USA just inflates their numbers more effectively on paper. USA is in no position to threaten any sanctions against china. they have the highest national debt in the world and guess who owns that debt? china. All that USA will do in this conflict is sell weapons to ukraine for profit. they will block any attempts from other nato countries to do more such as sending fighter jets or instating no fly zone or deploying ground troops to defend ukraine. they cant make more money by doing so, therefore they wont do it. the only reason why they might esalate the conflict is to gain control of ukrainian oil and natural gas reserves in the future, but that is not a priority on the short term, and russia has controlled most of those resources from crimea and donetsk for the past 8 years. china also wont do anything because their priority would be to de-escalate the situation, and anything they can do will only escalate it. therefore, ukraine will have to fight a proxy war for nato and pay for it with lives of its people, to keep the russians off nato's doorstep. only hope is to sandbag the invasion long enough and disrupt russian supply lines until the war becomes too costly for the kremlin and they will have to retreat or risk losing control of belarus, crimea and donetsk and luhansk regions. it is at this point unknown how many forces russia is able to commit and how much ukrainian defense can handle.
