It is odd. Engineers can read and put together spreadsheets. They are not foreign to itemized coat analysis. They can break down , and for most part reason where there cuts have merits as designs and manufacturing technology evolves. Moreover , they can thinker with designs that address improvements and cost reductions. Engineers , machinists , pipe fitters … To block this collective knowledge in detriment of aleatory cost cutting , or cutting to the bone , is asinine.

Interesting how company culture can be built. Those meetings might go along with peering and mentorship. Just like a tribal council and then a elders to novices. And drumming up those concepts until they become ingrained into the ethos. Good posting.

Given the fact Boeing severed its most accomplished generation of engineers , there is no end to their downfall. I would expect competitors to lure their exiting engineers and tradespeople to improve their own programs.

@momsspaghetti4064 well, the aftermarket and OEM market are also to blame. A lot of shady practices in the replacement industry. Large carriers maintain profitable routes and sublet hub to secondary locations. Those secondary routes are where cost cutting takes to the extreme.
