  1. Vertical residential buildings provide a better financial return to the builder/ developer. It also fosters individualism over a sense of community. People who,live in apartment high rises hardly know their neighbors.

  2.  @obsidianjane4413  that is in part by the building design flaws. You are not seeing your neighbors , other than HOA mandatory meets, or a chance encounter at the elevator . On the courtyard or circle , you will cross your neighbors unwillingly.
