They will run a sweatshop elsewhere. Given them time.

@neideparente1449 first off , this is a very biased opinion with racial undertones. Shame on you. You are basing it on preconceived notions. A lot of computer coding that takes place in the US comes from India. That requires literacy , including math . Not from Brazil, nor Mexico, and certainly not from Russia since the war broke out. India. Second, consumer electronics are made from scattered parts of the globe. Your ICs and chips might come from the US, Taiwan , South Korea. Your glasses from Japan. What they are relocating to India are component assembly lines , a low value added and low skill set. Third. Obviously English composition isn’t your forte .

Now , all of the bulldozing of old clustered dwellings and raking of productive farmland comes to haunt those party officials who pushed for these building projects. They have a lot of explaining to do towards people around them. Those two form of evictions should tell enough to everyone else, where rights to property stand in China. You can’t turn those unsafe buildings into subsidized public housing , because you will then step onto the rights of people who bought those apartments in the first place. And even if you did , then it would surely depreciate the value of those buildings through accelerated wear and tear. Somehow these officials , enablers and leaders haven’t thought it out through.

Reshoring, lower labor costs elsewhere , and foreign companies got tired of having intelectual property stolen. Not to mention being overruled in every legal claim against theft.

There is a disconnect. Chinese companies expanding abroad while there is disinvestment in China. Robbing from Peter to Pay Paul. The years Chinese industrialists kept syphoning money away abroad through Hong Kong and Macau should be the writing on the wall. For those left behind , whoever can afford , it’s time to jump ship.

Tesla’s nameplate cars have undergone deep discounts to move unsold inventory. China’s local manufacturers are eating Tesla’s lunch on market share gains . And boy wonder Elon has just gave the perfect opportunity to have its car building know how stolen by locals.

You had your day bro. The one who gives it , is the same one who takes taketh . Ain’t no Buddha to bail you out. The smart ones above you took the money and ran. Expensive overseas real estate , factories on Mexico. The American financiers were your masters. Never lose sight of that. The British , the Americans , your party bosses.

@stevepailet8258 that is no more. He left Gotham for Texas. And the State of New York still serves him notices.

It ain’t like these displaced workers can round up their nest eggs, and get into a boat. They will need to get through Hong Kong to cash out their worthless pile of money. At best, they can take severance pay, hand it over to their parents with their children left behind , so they can find something else by Africa , Southeast Asia , Russia , Latin America. Forget Europe , Australia , and Anglo North America. A 300 thousand jobless contingent is a huge economic refugee displacement. I doubt the party bosses will have anything else to throw at them. Not even back to the countryside will cut it. I doubt the party bosses ever cared for their own serfs.

It does not work in real life. After all , you don’t want brownfields on your community. So it becomes someone else’s opportunity and future problem to undertake manufacturing. Chemicals are a good example. If Union Carbide , or DuPont can’t process it at home , then an eager someone’s else will do. Apparel manufacturing , brand name makers will always subcontract to the cheapest needle around, since you want to pay the least and corporations want to maximize profits. Even in China , they are shipping their apparel making output to Etiópia. And your clothing has left China a long time ago. Nowadays is Dominican Republic, Costa Rica, Bangladesh …. Not everyone can afford to have it tailored made at Saville Row. The list is endless.

It wasn’t for lack of examples. Japan went through the same high during the 90’s. Some Japanese politician went bragging then , and his voters begged him to shut up. I guess the proliturbo types don’t follow history.

@johnb9587 Ambev Executives have been self sabotaging their own company since they took over Anheuser Busch. They are totally out of synch with how to run a brewery in a very competitive market. And even before then , the beer was loss poor watered down. They used their acquisitions as a giant piggy bank. And tan their held subsidiaries dry ever since. You couldn’t find any more arrogant types than their executives.
