At the time , consumer activism , mostly lead by Ralph Nader and his followers , was at its highest point of achievement. And he certainly influenced Jimmy Carter on bills passed that benefited the middle class and the working man. The watershed moment reversing and slowly dismantling all the progressive F.D.R.’s New Deal policies took place during the Reagan Administration , and has systematically taken place through Republican and Democrat administrations ever since.
