  5. No they won’t. The Chinese are increasing exports and plant builds where they are welcomed. Which also translates into taking over markets once owned by American manufacturers. They are not playing currency. They are entrenching into Europe, Eurasia , Russia , the whole Latin America , Africa. They might’ve lost the battle, it this is an war of atriction.

  11. Which places you right in the hands of the pork, beef , and poultry cartel. Tyson Foods, Cargill, JBS USA Holdings (Brazilian, which bought Swift ) , and National Beef. That 85% of your beef, pork, poultry output right there. Unless you can source it at a local farm , or farmer’s market , you will be getting the raw deal. Bleed Red, White, and Blue all you want. That won’t change the fact your meat dollars are going to these conglomerates, unless you want to pay through your nose to get quality stuff. And pork is a commodity driven market. Small operators don’t stand a chance on making a profit.

  12. As for the US , a car maker can only sell its portfolio of models if they pass NTHSA’s battery of safety tests. Chinese car makers can make the safest vehicles on earth and yet have their testing to be failed , as this agency is controlled by the federal government. There is a reason Geely bought Volvo. Which if remained under Ford ownership would’ ve been canibalized as GM did to Saab. Thr Chinese were smart enough to let Volvo do its own thing. And in exchange learnt a great deal on auto safety, and the building of a quality brand. The way for the Chinese to gain entry in the US automotive market is to buy into American brands. S.A.I.C. Owns a stakehold in GM already. Chrysler is no longer an American company. If you get your spare parts at any Autozone store , chances are , the discount stuff is all made in China. You see, all that bravado on tariffs goes nowhere . Is for voters. And outside of America, Chinese car makers are making inroads.

  14. You must be the tenth asking this question. The company generates profits. At the US consumer market. The Chinese are not loosing sleep over this. They can source their pork elsewhere. Brazil, Russia , Mexico. Once there are facilities in place , and know how, pigs can be raised and slaughtered anywhere.

  15. The beauty about Geely is that nobody drives a Geely. They drive Volvos , MGs. So they can fit perfectly as an OEM supplier and control a few car brands where these batteries can be found.

  16. You are correct. As for high quality and Chinese made EVs not being compatible, well, they decided to master EV on R&D and production to conquer world markets. All at the same time American car makers are slowly and steadily retreating from world markets , focusing solely on profitability , in an industry driven on low margins. And an industry that makes only money on volume and platforms. Where niche car makers make proftis by charging a premium. Give it time, Americans will buy Chinese made automotive technology, whether they want it or not. See G&E appliances , branded G&E , but wholy owned by Haier, a Chinese appliance maker. If you want to buy an American made appliance nowadays , and a good one, that is Viking , SubZero. Not G&E , not Frigidaire. At best Korean brands like IG, Samsung.

  17. You are correct. It is all about who owns world markets. Yet, the US auto market is nothing to sneeze at . Year in and out, Americans buy ten million vehicles. The European market is just about the same as in the US. The Chinese market stands twice about that. Brazil,hovers about the 2-3 million per year mark. Japan is about 3 million per year. So, in relative numbers , Americans and Europeans do matter on the tally. The Chinese are contending with trade restrictions and working around the edges. Getting smaller markets with lower entry barriers and eventually to seize the US market.

  18.  @yeahright4659  the Chinese were wise in subsidizing consumers. The waiver on costly issued license plates on ICE purchases went away on EV purchases. And then throwing money at R&D through grants and low interest loans towards EV carmakers and battery development . Now whatever incentives they threw in, it helped to foster domestic growth, and bought Chinese manufacturers plenty time to perfect their output. So now they are posed to conquer global markets.
