Russia should go further and establish bridge through landlocked Ukraine whereby it can establish borders with Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Moldova and Romania directly. Whatever is left of the rump that is 'ukraine' should be given away. This way Russia will now border 4 EU states. It can then create proxies that can cause hell for these EU states at will and destabilize the whole continent.
