For the EU the solution would be simple...either impose tariffs on these platforms or ban them altogether...in addition, the products offered there are only produced for landfill anyway, as they are of sub-standard quality...mind you, this waste is generated here in the EU and not in China because nobody will send this cheap junk back...such a gigantic burden on the environment...people can't really expect to get quality goods for a few euros.

@laurensvisser7623 Yes...maybe the products are a little more expensive...but quality is more costly...but it does not help anyone if you buy a kettle for less then 5 euros from Temu and than you have to throw it away after a few weeks...the same goes for furniture, clothes, shoes, electronics, household appliances...you are talking about electronic spare parts, which are only a very, very small part of this whole thing. Besides... it is possible to buy electronic products that are not 'made in China' (and do not cost 10 times as much)...my new Samsung phone...my tablet...my smart watch...all made in Vietnam...if Temu sells a smart watch for under 10 euros, then it can only be junk. Or shoes that cost less than 5 euros...That is precisely the point of Temu, Shein or Alibaba...incredibly bad products at an incredibly low price. In my country there are now official warnings against purchasing electrical equipment from these platforms, which do not meet any European safety standards.
