It should be considered, that monarchy is not just a king. A true monarchy comes with all that multi-level pyramid of barons, counts, dukes etc. - a system originating from the feudal form of organisation of economical and political life of societies. The "castrated" monarchies of our times that have only a "ceremonial king" are either a fake like those dressed-up "princes" in Disneyland, or, which is more likely, keep sustaining the feudal pyramid in a hidden manner. E.g. nobility titles were abolished in Japan, but many prominent politicians and big business leaders there belong to the same good old families and de-facto inherit their offices, formally being elected via the mechanisms of the parliamentary democracy. Calling the British monarchy "ceremonial" is a misleading lie too, aimed to distract the public attention from the fact that the royal family and its subordinate aristocratic families literally own the country and get royalties from businesses renting the land. They have transformed themselves into capitalist stakeholders very craftily, while preserving the feudal system of their property rights.
