  1. It is very common. If a child tells mum that dad hit or raped them, the police and court will not believe the mother because all she has is hear say. Then they say since it was not believed, it must be something the mother made up, therefore parental alienation, and the abusive dad get full custody and the mum gets at best visitation under supervision. This is happening world wide. Parental alienation strategy makes rapists and beaters get full custody of vulnerable children, and protective mothers are vilified. I hope this girl was not just returned to a rapist.
