  2. FALSE. Carbon emissions have been accelerating, NOT going down. Besides, even if we stopped emissions now, the emissions we have already put into the atmosphere would effect the climate for over a thousand years.

Thousands of years in the future after civilisation has crumbled because the world's coastal cities have been inundated and mass starvation has caused political and economic destabilisation, as well as one major extreme weather event after another? Well, I only hope that governments and institutions have the funds to bring back extinct species in such a future. But if the ice is melting, where will the penguins live?

  7.  @tastypymp1287  Don't be ridiculous. We live in a world of specialist expertise in which it is literally impossible to do all the work oneself. But at least in science they have a stringent system to weed out false claims: the peer review system by which scientists work must be able to be widely replicated before it is accepted. Non-scientists who think they can personally test or disprove scientific studies are suffering from a severe case of Dunning-Kruger effect. You'll just have to take the perfectly logical view that many thousands of scientists haven't all collaborated in a massive scheme to hoodwink everybody; to believe that is absolutely paranoid.

Don't pose as scientifically educated when you clearly don't even know that at that time there were supermassive volcanic eruptions that emitted enormous amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere that skyrocketed the temperatures and acidified the oceans. THAT isn't happening now, but WE are doing the same thing by burning fossil fuels.

  14. There's no hope. Climate change is speeding up beyond what most scientists dared to predict in numerous areas. Collapse is almost unavoidable at this point. Oh well, back to your YouTube, and better remember to refuel the SUV. I wonder what's on Netflix?... Stupid short-sighted human blunders off and forgets about the latest warning as if it is just another story among many...
