What arrant, abject foolishness! What matters isn't the ice cover in one year by area. What matters is ice area and VOLUME. The ice then was much thicker, now it is so thin it melts within a couple of days of the sun hitting it. It's pathetic how people like you think you know better than scientists when in reality absolutely any conman can fool you😂.

Governments won't take any notice. They will put in some solar and windmills, but they won't shut down any fossil fuel plants, and they have subsidised fossil fuels more than they ever have at any time in history. They only care about staying in power with the help of their fossil fuel donors and their "public relations" propaganda. The future is going to be a nightmare for those who haven't seriously prepared for it. Our only hope is that population is set to plummet, which might allow for enough forest regrowth to pull enough of the excess CO2 out of the atmosphere. But I think it will be too late, and the die will be cast.

Reading the comments on these stories always makes me think how much I wish humans weren't so stupid. Then I realise the people governing us are just as stupid, and I get really scared. If only they had been smart enough to realise the scientists were actually smarter than them. But no, they are just the thugs with the will to power.
