  1. If I lived there I would have bore water and the best roof sprinklers available. I'd also keep all vegetation except flower beds and lawn away from my house. I'd only have trees and bushes (not highly flammable ones, either) well - and I mean well - away from the house.

  3. Sure, there will be a population collapse, and towns will become ghost towns, but that's actually a GOOD THING. With the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere now, and by then at the rate we're going, we have to draw CO2 OUT of the atmosphere to bring global temperatures down. The best means found yet to do that is by increasing forest cover, by far. In the grand scheme of humanity's survival, population collapse is our greatest chance to survive.

You speak as if the present solar cell efficiency is a serious problem when in fact, as South Australia has proven, solar panels presently work quite efficiently enough to solve our green energy needs, especially when put on enough rooftops, and backed up by wind and batteries. If they weren't good enough as is, solar wouldn't be being invested in and installed by so many energy companies and governments worldwide at the stunning, wildly accelerating rate they are.
