Scientists have proven that climate change will increase both the frequency and severity of storms and hurricanes, and they have modelled its effects upon low lying areas, including, specifically, Florida. So, despite it being impossible to attribute specific hurricane to climate change, it is likely having a strong impact upon their likelihood, especially as the oceans have absorbed so much of the excess heat that has built up in the atmosphere to date, and that hot oceans cause hurricanes.
