@Omni_Shambles No, this has been obvious to most people with an ounce of intelligence for months now.

@Dekatelon Rubbish! 86% of Germans support for the green energy transition is "Very High" including for windmills in their own locality. Support has grown since the Ukraine war. There is a vey loud minority who are against it. But they're so old, they'll soon die out.

It's corrupt politicians who are the problem.

@razvanciobotaru3089 Nuclear energy is too expensive to build, and the old plants take too much time and money to maintain. France's system is constantly shut off while it's maintained. Cracks at the welds, rust, etc.

@felipe-vibor The ruble is down 30% since the oil price cap came into effect in December. 😁

@J4Zonian 😄❤

@DemPilafian Hurrah!

Couldn't those terminals built for liquified gas be used as green hydrogen terminals? That would actually turn out to be a huge plus, if so.
2
@J4Zonian Yeah, I looked it up and was very disappointed. I just hope those that haven't been built yet can be changed to green hydrogen terminals. Hope dies last.

@peterp5099 Solar is now by far the cheapest and quickest way to make electricity.
2
@felipe-vibor Not "really"? It's a real fact. One purchase by Japan doesn't effect the overall figures.
2
@felipe-vibor And the dominoes are falling the other way.
2
@peterp5099 Oh, God, that old chestnut? Today solar/wind combinations with large-scale batteries are both cheaper and more reliable and faster to respond than coal or gas generation methods. Keep up, man!

@felipe-vibor Russian economy is plummeting, Russian military hasn't made any inroads in months, and they can't even provide their soldiers with body armour, boots or helmets from this century.
2
@DWPlanetA Thank-you! 🙂
2
@saba1030 Thank-You! I shall look it up!

@J4Zonian If it's the SYSTEM that corrupts them, how come there are politicians who aren't corrupt? Everyone has a choice whether to sell their soul to the Devil, metaphorically speaking.

@felipe-vibor There's a recent analysis of Russia's economic figures on Jake Broe's channel. I suggest you check it out and get up to date, buddy. As for Russia, they were driven back, and are contained, unable to regain even what they took at the start. Losers. They've been sacrificing thousands of unwilling young men to gain meters in Bakhmut, and shooting any of them who try to escape because they don't want to be sacrificed for an old, crazy dictator's ambition.

@DWPlanetA I have read that article and it seems that it is crucial that the proposed new LNG plants are constructed with suitable steel so that they can easily be converted over to liquid hydrogen terminals in the future, as will be needed if Germany actually intends to follow through with their green energy plans, especially as green hydrogen will be needed for car manufacturing, and the like. To not plan for that transition would be to irresponsibly fail to future proof the terminals. Or to corruptly sell out to fossil fuel interests. AGAIN. Perhaps you could do a story on this DW Planet A? Put the issue I the spotlight before it's too late! ❤

@peterp5099 Well, batteries are THE energy technology that has decreased in price the MOST over the past few years. No-one will want to install the old tech, UNLESS THEY ARE PROPPED UP BY TAXPAYER FUNDED SUBSIDIES. The governments just need to stop accepting bribes from fossil fuel companies, and LET THE FREE MARKET DO IT's THING.
