  1. I'm an Australian, and I have to agree with President Erdogan. I watched him dealing with the West and Putin and Ukraine during the war in Ukraine, also, and he is invariably just and remarkably wise. I like him a lot.

Ā @AlexDrastico380Ā  Since my previous comment I have researched Turkey, the Kurds, and Erdogan, and I can safely say that the whole history of the Kurds, Iran, Iraq and Turkey is a seething, boiling mess of attacks against each other over centuries. In the recent past the Kurds have attacked Turkey, Turkey has attacked the Kurds, the Kurds have fought to become independent, and Turkey has called their attacks terrorism. Overall, after looking into it, I do not agree at all with Erdogan's treatment of the Kurds, as far as suppressing their culture is concerned, but he is actually quite a popular figure with certain Turkish Kurds, while others want to secede from Turkey, and lead armed uprisings, which Erdogan's forces violently suppressed. The whole thing is a can of worms, and it beats me.

  4. Ā @victoriaparker7759Ā  You mean to some Kurds- No, I don't. Nor do I support Kurds trying to secede from Turkey. Many Kurds actually vote for Erdogan. However I strongly reject suppressing any ethnic group's language or culture (as Erdogan has done), as attacks against cultural heritage are a type of Crime Against Humanity.

  8. Ā @houndrysmagolyteofhope4661Ā  I don't justify crimes against humanity, if he did them. I spoke only of his stance here, and his actions during the Ukraine war. There seem to be many factions in Turkey, so it appears to me unclear whether Erdogan ordered attacks on Kurds, or whether factions did. All I know for sure is that the conflict between Kurds and others in the region of the world is decades, and even centuries long. I DO know for sure that he has suppressed Kurdish culture - which looks bad. If you have any definitive reports of him ordering crimes against humanity please send me the title, as I will be happy to look at it and learn. My mind is open.

  11. You have a right to protect your people, but you have gone far, far, far in excess of that. You do NOT have a right to starve an entire population: under the Genocide Convention that is classed as genocide.
