We need to start building roofs out of solar panels. Just make the whole roof out of solar panels.

@vernevens1598 Sam powers his entire house even on rainy days with his solar panels and battery. And so do many other people, as solar panels of today work perfectly well enough in low light. That's what.

@Guvament_bs Why is gas receiving even more 10's of billions in taxpayer's subsidies? That question is asked and never answered. Look it up. You don't seem to know much about reality.
2
@vernevens1598 So you had a bad personal experience years ago, due to a faulty piece of equipment, and now you apply it across the board. Very scientific of you😂👏.

@markumbers5362 Rubbish. They are overjoyed if disaster is averted.

@Guvament_bs According to Griffiths University, "Future Made in Australia?..." "...Australia's budget provides significantly more fossil-related tax credits scheme than green funding." Globally, fossil fuel subsidies are $10.5 TRILLION each year. In Australia, fossil fuel subsidies reached $14.5 billion in 2023-2024, and $65 billion in the forward estimates. * Australia Institute.

@Guvament_bs I don't believe for a millisecond that you have an environmental science degree from Griffith University, because your understanding of actual facts is so below par. Some other idiot can waste their time replying to your absolute nonsense.

@Guvament_bs I bet you are one of those mining operatives who come on here from places like Rio Tinto to try and spread misinformation...

@willhooke It would be done with panels that could be individually replaced, and cost would be offset by enormous energy bill savings. All new builds should be required to have batteries, too. And the government should subsidise home batteries for people who install or already have rooftop solar.

@FlintStone-c3s I know. I would like it to be policy to do so. Building code.
1
@Guvament_bs All perfectly well solved by building more batteries. There are batteries now that store energy for days. And solar panels work well enough to power a house on rainy days now. Sam's panels power his house on rainy days. You're speaking as if this is 10 years ago. Solar panels have changed.
1
@Guvament_bs "Pure physics," blah, blah, blah. Actual lived reality proves that solar panels are sufficient to power one's house in rainy and overcast weather, nowadays. And at night, too, with batteries.

@Guvament_bs It's facts, not hype. What decade do you live in? Wake up, and do some research for god's sake!

@Guvament_bs The writing's on the wall. You've lost. Coal will go the way of the horse and cart. And it's in its death throes.
1
@Kevin07-w9l That's why Labor is approving massive battery installations everywhere.

Elon Musk read the writing on the wall, and very cleverly got on Trump's good side. Trump's loyal to wherever the money is, and Musk has got more money than anyone, most of it coming from megapack batteries. Why would Trump remain loyal to coal and oil? Solar and batteries are the new bonanza.
