  5. @ Tibet was not part of China. It was Tibet. That is what Tibetans say, and they did not appreciate the destruction of their temples, and the murder of their monks, en masse by imperialist China. I have spoken to Tibetan refugees, and that is what they told me, first hand. China persecuted them for their cultural practices, and their religions.

  7. Could it be because it is stealing water from the river system in a time of increasing droughts downstream of the Himalaya?! This is a criminal action by China, and there should be international laws against water theft from catchments and from rivers that cross borders. I'm all for green, renewable energy, but dams are not the solution, especially in this time of climate change. Dams are well known to be terrible for producing and emitting methane, a terrible short-term greenhouse gas. Dams are NOT a solution to climate change.
