  1. But solar, wind and batteries are the cheapest means of fuel generation in the world now. The problem is corruption whereby fossil fuel companies negotiate taxpayer-funded subsidies in order to keep themselves afloat into the future, rather than become stranded assets. Those exorbitantly subsidised gas and coal power plants are what is driving up energy prices. Stop the corrupt subsidies and the problem of expensive energy prices will disappear.
