  1. It's truly pathetic, the seeming amused pride that Russians take in declaring themselves uninterested in how their own country is run. They don't realise that they are thinking like serfs. It's so sad to think that Russian's were once a people who fought for their own freedom from despotism, to descend to this. Saddest of all is how they have been conditioned to wear their powerlessness as a badge of independence. It's like in the book 1984: SLAVERY IS FREEDOM, and WAR IS PEACE.
