  1. When I was 21 a similar thing happened to me when I was walking home late on a deserted street. A car full of young Lebanese men drove by very slowly talking about me and then turned the corner. The hair on the back of my neck stood up. I looked around and saw a very dark alcove by someone’s door, so I stepped into their yard and hid in their porch. Sure enough, they circled back around, searching, looking, THRICE, before they drove away. I stayed hiding for about 15 minutes before I dared to run home as fast as I could.And that’s far from the only time I have been hunted, like prey, by men.
