Putin will explode a dirty bomb inside Russia's border and then blame it on Ukraine. His reckless, sociopathic deployment of untrained recruits, without functioning weapons, into the front line proves he has no compunctions against sacrificing Russians to his ambitions. Following said explosion he will blow up the dam near Kherson in "retaliation," destroying the water supply to Crimea in the process, and killing many people (and Ukrainian, and expendable - to him - Russian, soldiers in the flood). In response to these atrocities the 93rd Brigade (now stationed on the border to Ukraine) will enter Ukraine, and Putin will deploy a tactical nuke in Ukraine (claiming that the US has invaded Russian territory). Should that happen, NATO will become involved. This is just one possible sequence of how Putin could escalate a world war.
