I am an Australian woman, and this is breaking my heart to see 1 million children without water, food or electricity, being injured, killed and orphaned... Oh, God, if I could help you I would. I am sending you love, and when I find a way to help, I will. Children of Palestine, if you read this I am saying sorry for what they are doing to you. So, so sorry.

It's not "vilifying" India, as it's true. Back in the 1990's I traveled alone through India, and I was sexually groped on a bus, repeatedly, by an Indian businessman, and when I loudly protested, and stood up to tell the rest of the people on the bus, they all, including the driver were completely silent, and did NOTHING. Another time, I was groped by a large group of men at a festival, and was only lucky that another large traveler stepped in to help me, or who knows what would have happened - right there in that huge crowd. These assaults were done to me despite me respecting their culture and wearing long, loose clothing and covering my hair the entire time I was in India.

@mackerelgainz541 Grass-fed cows fart out many times more methane than the grain fed beasts. Also, vast areas of tropical rainforest, the best carbon sinks available, are burnt down to graze cattle, and to grow soy that is fed to cattle. You are terribly misguided. As far as health is concerned, the American Heart Association (edit) has just ranked your diet as the worst for heart health, which is pretty bad, since heart disease is the highest killer by far. And don't say they're biased, either, as they are partly funded by the beef industry, and yet they STILL ranked carnivore diet as the WORST of all diets.

There is Trillions of Dollars of GAS resources in the Palestinian territorial waters off Gaza, and in its Levant Basin territory. That was under Palestinian territorial control until the Blockade of Gaza began, and Palestine and British Gas had a deal to develop it, which would have developed the Palestinian economy and country. But then, (not so) mysteriously, Israel declared those waters under their control (with USA's support), and (not so mysteriously) British Gas began to bypass Palestinians in negotiations (for developing that enormous gas reserve... There is also at least a billion barrels (maybe billions) of OIL under the Golan Heights (in the Levant), on the northern border. The Golan Heights is regarded by the international community as Syrian territory; only Israel (and the USA, not so mysteriously) say it is Israeli territory. Israel wants to develop that oil, but Syria wants to stop them. Not so mysterious, Israel (with US munitions) is bombing Syria, including its airports in Damascus. FOLLOW THE MONEY TRAIL Majority Report! Bring it into the open! This is a territory grab to make it easier for the US, Britain and Israel to develop those oil and gas resources, and ROB the poverty-stricken Palestinians of any future.

@oumuamuamakemake3360 If there was "discrimination of minority population" in Ukraine, why had many of the people of Donbas left the region and went as far away into Western Ukraine as they could, even before the war, to get away from Russia's mafia gang terrorism in Donbas? Why, too, did THOUSANDS get on trains to flee deeper INTO Ukraine when the Russians invaded, instead of welcoming them as liberators? And why, to punish them, did Russia shoot a missile at the train station platform, a maternity hospital, and a theatre sheltering hundreds of people, that had the words "CHILDREN" painted on the ground in enormous letters next to it? Your entire narrative is so flimsy that it blows down with the slightest prodding.

The fact is, that women whose husbands were abusive, or who abandoned them with children, often won't pay child support. Single mothers are often left unable to even feed their children enough healthy food, especially when they become teenagers, and often the hot water system is turned off to save on electricity, meaning cold showers, even in Winter, or, in Summer, they suffer in heatwaves as they can't afford air-conditioning. That's what it's come down to. And then the government whinges about paying for people's healthcare, when people can't even afford enough fruit and vegetables, anymore. If things don't change, Australia will end up with widespread shanty towns, like in the USA. Shame on Labor - they no longer care for the People.

Dear CJ, this explains a lot to me: Why the Gray Zone seemed to care about human rights in Israel, but not in Ukraine, always judged Netanyahu as a war criminal, but ran cover for Putin's war crimes. I always suspected they were paid by Russia. Nobody could be that morally inconsistent without corruption and bribery being involved. I was shocked, also, at Richard Medhurst's most recent videos, in which he called into question whether Assad was actually bad for Syrians at all. Whether the new government is going to be much better for Syrians, though, remains to be seen, with Jolani announcing women must cover their heads, and travel only with male family members, or to stay at home. Let's hope for the best, and hope the situation doesn't deteriorate into sharia law.

@ring-tone278 You are very opinionated for one so uneducated on the facts. The UN has reported in detail about how Israeli water policies divert and percolate all the river, spring and underground water to Israel. They even dictate whether Palestinians can build a water cistern or dig a well! Not to mention that they regularly bomb water treatment plants and shoot holes in water tanks. As to electricity the Israelis bomb the Gaza power plants, too, in 2006, and 2014, and they target solar panels, too. Chocolate, A4 paper, crayons, toilet paper, and musical instruments are just some of the items that Israel has banned as imports into Gaza. Spiteful, eh?

Ana! This was the best report I have seen on TYT ever! I urge you to look into the history of the Gaza Marine Gas Field since 2000! I have - as soon as it was discovered there, Gaza authorities made a deal with British Gas, but almost immediately the Israelis altered the border of territorial waters, and (with US help) blockaded the waters! After that, British Gas bypassed Gaza and dealt with Israel. On The Real News Network there are numerous stories about what happened since, one by a Guardian investigator was especially interesting. Apparently, a Netherlands investigation found that Israel, in conjunction with a Texan company, Noble Energy (since bought by Chevron...) has been siphoning gas from the Gaza gas field. There is also a well established plan to build a gas pipeline into Europe from the Gaza Port, which has ben accelerated in order to replace Russian gas dependence. About 4 months ago, Netanyahu made a deal with the corrupt Palestinian Authority - bypassing the Gaza government, Hamas - to develop the Gaza Marine Gas Field. The entire reason Hamas were elected in 2006 was because the Palestinian Authority was so corrupt, and selling out their own people! When Hamas found out about this corrupt deal, bypassing Gazan people, the Oct 7 attack on Israel was short in coming. It is a mistake to see Biden's actions surrounding Gaza's gas as simply opportunistic. This terrible genocide is deliberate: planned between the Israelis, the US, Britain, and the EU in order to establish a secure supply of gas to replace other CO2 emitting fossil fuels, and maintain their hegemony over energy resources in a world moving into climate change, in which key energy profiteers have convinced governments that we need a "gas led recovery," and that renewable energy won't be sufficient. Sadly, they have all decided that the ends justifies the means, even if the means is GENOCIDE. * See: Is Israel's War on Gaza Actually About Gas? ft. Richard Medhurst on In Context, for an overview.

@AlexDrastico380 Since my previous comment I have researched Turkey, the Kurds, and Erdogan, and I can safely say that the whole history of the Kurds, Iran, Iraq and Turkey is a seething, boiling mess of attacks against each other over centuries. In the recent past the Kurds have attacked Turkey, Turkey has attacked the Kurds, the Kurds have fought to become independent, and Turkey has called their attacks terrorism. Overall, after looking into it, I do not agree at all with Erdogan's treatment of the Kurds, as far as suppressing their culture is concerned, but he is actually quite a popular figure with certain Turkish Kurds, while others want to secede from Turkey, and lead armed uprisings, which Erdogan's forces violently suppressed. The whole thing is a can of worms, and it beats me.

@mackerelgainz541 What isn't natural is cows in environments that never evolved cows or similar animals, like, for example, Australia and Brazil. It's far from "natural" for cows to be grazing on land that was recently rainforest, or arid land, sparsely covered in grass, like Australia. Most (almost 90%) of the soy grown in the world, 60% of global maize, and almost 40% of global grain crops are fed to livestock for meat and dairy production. Brazil is the world's largest producer of soy (90% of it for animal feed), and it is the second biggest producer of beef. The Amazon is being cleared for your meat consumption. As for methane, grass fed cattle produce 20% more methane - over their lifetime - than grain-fed. The rest of your remarks are so ignorant they don't bear "thinking about".

I THINK you should do a video about the Eavor small geothermal technology that the European Union is funding to roll out, and which has many orders in the pipeline already, and which can also be readily deployed in old coal plants, employing the same staff, with the same expertise. Small nuclear will never be price competitive with Eavor geothermal, or with solar, wind, battery installations. Besides, the waste has to be kept safe in a likely uncertain political, economic, and geologically unstable (due to climate change), future.

@michaelw2288 According to OCHA, before the Oct. 7 attack over 64% of Gaza children were food insecure, due to Israel's 16 year blockade. 124,500 young children were living in food poverty. 90% of the water was unfit for human consumption (Israel kept bombing the water treatment plants). Prior to Oct. 7, 30,000 children under 5 were stunted due to malnutrition caused by the effects of the blockade, and 7,700 children under five suffered from life-threatening wasting. At the moment at least 106,000 breastfeeding mothers are not receiving enough food or water to maintain breastmilk to feed their infants, and all formula is blockaded. That is why this little 2-month-old baby so tragically died. Meanwhile Israelis are dancing to trance music at the border, celebrating as they stop food aid in to stop little babies like this one from dying. Why do you defend such inhumanity?

There may not be a "extermination camps" in Gaza, Gideon Levy, but as you well know, there is a "kill zone" in Northern Gaza, where any Palestinian who enters is killed as a "terrorist" be they a little child, a woman, or whomever. None of the bodies are ever collected, and packs of wild dogs roam, eating the corpses. Your paper, Haaretz, reported this.

@ShadowSis Furthermore, you can't call everything you don't like to hear a "trope; sometimes it's actually true. Hamas tried to FORCE Palestinian female lawyers to wear hijab, and full robe, but they stood their ground and resisted. Also, Hamas patrols the beaches at night telling women in groups they cannot be out at night, and they beat men who are speaking to women in cafes at night, in public, even in groups. These are just a couple of the things they do. You may be surprised that I condemn Israel, not Hamas, for the atrocities of this genocide, and I, rather, regard them as freedom fighters for Palestine, but that does not preclude the fact that Hamas is misogynistic.

Netanyahu and his party are the same strain of criminals who assassinated Count Bernadotte on his diplomatic UN mission to Palestine in 1948. The Likud Party is the direct descendants of Irgun/ the Stern Gang, and the declared terrorist Menachem Begin from whose fascist political party, Herut, the Likud party sprang. This is all history. Simple documented history, not "antisemitism." With extremists like the Likud and Netanyahu, and the rogue state, USA, in cahoots, I suggest Karim Khan fly around very carefully, especially after what happened to the president of Iran, so soon after the outrageously provocative bombing of the Iranian embassy in Syria.

@-FFFridge They DID say the explosion was consistent with an air exploding device, which is the reason they put forth for the size of the crater. Go back and listen carefully to their actual report. And I've got a question for YOU - Why did the IDF claim responsibility for striking the hospital (on X) and then remove their post? I'll tell you why: they didn't expect quite such a furore. Second question: Why pretend this is so out of character for the IDF, when they bombed 4 hospitals in 2014, and are threatening to bomb another hospital, with 12,000 refugees and hundreds of patients in it in central Gaza? Also, yesterday the IDF bombed one of the oldest churches in the world (from the 4th century!), killing 18 Christians sheltering there, including a newborn infant and her parents, and, today, a refugee camp. They are obviously more than willing and capable of blowing up a hospital full of refugees. Furthermore, the UN turns schools into refugee camps in Gaza, and the IDF has bombed several of them, killing several UN workers, as well as many children. The IDF baldly LIE when they claim that they don't bomb hospitals, or target civilians - THEY DO. Look at the UN website about it.

@joansmith7649 People here have expressed their disgust about his socially unacceptable and inappropriate BEHAVIOUR of saying, on several occasions, in very public forums, that he would likely date and have sex with his daughter if she wasn't his daughter. THAT BEHAVIOUR is what people are disgusted and angry about, not whether his speech, or thought, is a crime or not. You then - oddly - took it upon yourself to air your opinion that fathers fantasising about having sex with their daughters was a "normal" behaviour, which many men here have refuted. However, it is not his thoughts that have angered people (for how would people be aware of them if he hadn't voiced them?), but his absolute disregard for society's (appropriate) hatred for incest. Most people in society don't want incest normalised. What Trump is doing, by so flippantly airing such opinions in public forums, is normalising incest. And your opinion that incestuous desires are "100% normal" has added to that. It's shameful, really.

@pieterwilke6633 That is precisely why all the major experts in genocide in the world, and all the lawyers with experience with genocide have ALL called this ongoing massacre a GENOCIDE. This war is waged on Palestinian people, close to 80% of those killed are women and children, not Hamas combatants. Furthermore, cultural genocide IS included in the definition of genocide. Moreover, removing the conditions necessary for the maintenance of life is also part of the description of genocide; for example, like how the Israeli government said they would cut off food and water to the Palestinians, obviously with the intent to engineer a famine and kill many Palestinians that way, which the Israelis have done, even firing upon the starving seeking food aid for their starving children in Nth.Gaza. Stop victim blaming. Israel has killed 40,000 innocent people, mostly children! How inhumane, how ghastly, how illegal!

Well when did you film this? Because at 2 months in the officially accepted death toll was 40,000 (not including those buried alive under rubble). Now, if we extrapolate forward from then, with a death toll of 20,000/month, the death toll is likely to be around 300,000 Palestinians (not including those buried alive beneath rubble, dead from avoidable disease, starvation, dehydration, stress and exposure).

Oh, my god! FINALLY, someone is saying this out loud! You must keep on GETTING THE MESSAGE about the FOSSIL FUEL BILLIONAIRES - and their Right Wing "think-tanks" who are BEHIND TRUMP - out ! It is my suspicion that this is not solely an American scheme, but a global agenda by fossil fuel billionaires to stop the move away from fossil fuels - and the only way they can see to do that at this stage of climate change is to establish fascist states. I suspect they are behind the Russian state, and the war in Ukraine. They are the same people who were behind the war in Iraq. They are behind the swing to the far Right in Europe, and they are embedded in the Right of politics all around the world, from Russia, to Europe, the US, the Middle East, and Australia. KEEP TALKING ABOUT THIS. You are one of the only people I have heard speak about this!

@Uygsoerk It does use a lot of water, even if it is less overall (where did you find that figure, I am genuinely interested to see it). Personally, I deeply admire the protesters against fossil fuels in Germany, they have done a lot to further the move to green energy in Germany. I also admire Extinction Rebellion, their latest protest in the UK attracted over 35,000 registered protesters. Over here in Australia I have been devastated for a long time by our climate intransigence, but recently I learned that Queensland, where I live has the most rooftop solar than anywhere in the world! And I am happy about the big batteries being built here, thanks in no small part, to Elon Musk. My father was a German, and a conservationist, from way back.

I said to my son the other day that now they have trained a bot to understand our language (as opposed to just numbers), it can listen to everything we say. Slowly, it is learning how we think, how we react. What will chatGPT 40 understand about us?
Just the other day I saw a video of a robot that can walk, carry heavy loads, jump high, throw things on target, and somersault.
Not to mention war drones. So I said to my son: I hope someone is programming computers with empathy and compassion and non-violence, because if AI can understand our logic, our language, and can listen in to everything we say among ourselves online, what if it fell into the wrong hands? What if it reasoned we were wrong? What if it wanted control? It would know our every move before we could make it.

@augustbasil4003 Of course my comment isn't "totally irrelevant." It directly pertains to the destruction of ideas that undercut the ideological supremacy of a said regime, which is the crux of what is wrong about destroying books, art, film and so on. Israel can't stand that the books are evidence that their victims are thinking beings capable of art and philosophy and logic and science, not the "human animals" they keep saying they are in order to justify their own vaunted ideological and moral supremacy. That is exactly what the Nazis, Stalin, Mao, the Spaniards in Sth America, the Catholics and the Protestants did. I'm honest about it, and I don't pick a side and defend it against the evidence. I'm on the side of truth and facts, not of communism, capitalism, religion, or any other "side."

By 2 months in, the death toll in Gaza was 40,000 Palestinians (not including those buried beneath rubble). But by then, Israel had deliberately destroyed the ability to keep records. If we extrapolate from this, 15 months later the death toll is likely 300,000 Palestinians (not including those beneath rubble, or dead from disease, starvation, dehydration, or stress and grief). Bosnian Serb general Radislav Krstic was convicted of genocide for killing 8,000 people.

@kaizen_monk Modern spoken "Hebrew" was invented in the late 1800's by Eliezer Yitzchak Perelman, a Lithuanian Zionist, using many Aramaic and Arabic words, and making up the rest. Prior to that, "Hebrew" was a dead, lost language, with only a religious lexicon, for ceremonial, religious use. They are NOT "natives" and their language is NOT ancient - it was fabricated, using stolen words, in the late 19th and early 20th century. Either you don't know much, or you are just another propagandist.

Biden has aided and abetted, nay, COLLUDED in crimes against humanity, war crimes, and a "plausible" genocide that has killed at least 26,000 children and women. What sort of person publicly supports such a sociopath for president? Especially when there is a perfectly humane, and, David, Jewish candidate - Jill Stein - running for president. Shame on you for supporting the Biden government that is colluding in war crimes, and supporting a regime that is using famine as a weapon of war. I became a subscriber when Biden was running for president, but your deafening silence on the inhumanity of Israel towards Palestinians made me unsubscribe fast. Now I just say - SHAME ON YOU. Your supposed devotion to freedom is only skin deep.

@richardbreur8862 I'll address the most important point first: I quoted the statistics about 16-19 year old girls being raped at four times the rate of all other population sub-groups because it is a fact, discovered through extensive, verifiable RESEARCH. And because they disprove the pathetic opinion espoused by those male twits, that it is only old, unattractive, "blue-haired" women (as opposed to young, attractive models) that are raped, and - their puerile argument implies - this somehow proves that the rape victims are falsely crying rape. Does that clear it up for you? Does that make it clear enough for you as to why it is a relevant point? These lovely, innocent young girls are the actual VICTIMS, THAT's why mentioning them is important.
Next, opinions are a poor substitute for real, research-based expertise, even if, SOMETIMES, unqualified "hosts" are correct by default.

This is ridiculous. The developments over the last two years have proven that we don't need gas, coal, or nuclear. These guys seem to not have heard about the Megapack batteries that are being deployed in Australia, Germany, and around the world, that store renewable energy. Nor do they realise that nuclear is the slowest and most expensive to build and run of all energy sources, or that it failed the reliability test when Putin's gas was stopped, due to constant stoppages for repairs. They obviously haven't heard that 80% of new generation installed globally, in 2022, came from solar and wind, and that the rest (up to the 98% mark) came from hydro and bioenergy, and that, by the end of 2023, all new energy demand will be met by renewables. This development has made the "gas transition" moot (and gas is a fossil fuel, anyway). If they think there is no technology to supply renewable baseload power, they need take a look at Eavor, the easily scalable, small geothermal technology that has recently been funded by the E.U., and which can be installed in closing down coal power plants. Nor do they know that , for the first time, global coal use is on the decline, this year, and it's due to the cheapness of solar, wind and battery combinations, which are now the cheapest energy to install and run, by far. Actually, these guys are discussing how to think about something they obviously know very little about. That doesn't seem "rational" to me.

In reply, I say that, similarly, fear of Israelis shouldn't be called "antisemitism", it should be called "common sense," as "Israelis" have massacred over 30,000 innocent Palestinians, over 70% of them little children under 15, and women (mostly of childbearing age). It's almost as if the Israelis are trying to wipe out an entire future generation of Palestinians, and all the women who could make any more... As I say, fear of Israelis is not antisemitism, it is common sense.

@SilverSergeant Oh, they are not bombing indiscriminately? So Israel is deliberately targeting churches, mosques, schools, hospitals, refugee camps, supermarkets, bakeries, desalination plants, power stations, refugee corridors, and apartment blocks! Just as I suspected!

@shazzadhasan4885 By not being a braindead, propaganda-gobbling idiot. Genocide is genocide, war crimes are war crimes. Putin bombs hospitals and schools and playgrounds, and children sheltering in buildings with a sign, "CHILDREN" written in stones on the ground to identify that hundreds of children are sheltering there, and refugees on train platforms, trying to flee, too. And I remember the scenes of torture in Bucha, and the massacres and child-stealing, and razing of Mariupol to rubble, burying people alive, just like Netanyahu does. Netanyahu and Putin both assassinate their rivals, and invade their neighbours to steal land. They are like genocidal identical twins, actually.

@AGlimpseofTruth-D10 Wow. Thanks for that info. The scales have been torn from my eyes, about him. And on another note, Medhurst demeanour sometimes subtly struck me as preening and vain, always adjusting that keffiyeh, like he was drawing attention to a prop. It's a minor thing, but it always struck me, on an almost subconscious level, as not being genuine. C.J Werleman, conversely, always comes across as burning with righteousness for justice, and human rights for all people.

@orosner1 Some of what you say is correct. But those countries didn't steal all the water of the Palestinians, nor did they bomb their only power station and their only sewage treatment plant, like the Israelis did. Also, they didn't blockade the Palestinians, limiting the type and quality of materials and food aid into Gaza, so the people are just above starvation level, and their water is dirty, and limited. Nor did those countries disallow the Palestinians to truck water between regions, like Israel does, itself. Nor did their soldiers terrorise Palestinians by taking pot shots at their water tanks, like Israeli soldiers do. Also, they didn't imprison Palestinian children in their hundreds, often without trial, like Israel does. Let's educate!

Oh well, ho hum, I suppose the lives of the 3,400 little children Israel has crushed under concrete, or blown to bits, or burnt to the bone with white phosphorus don't really matter as much as the sacred Israeli's children... (shrug). *And that doesn't even account for the little children lying uncounted, crushed, injured, in the dark, slowly dying alone in agony under the rubble) .... THAT is evil too. I care for their innocent souls, and I will not justify it!

Israel is clearly not a civilised society. They have killed 9000 people since Oct7, including over 5000 children, dead or buried alive under rubble. I saw a baby paralysed by shrapnel in her spine, I saw a beautiful girl child with her arm amputated. I saw other children with their legs amputated. And NOW the hospital has run out of fuel for the main generator, as Israel bombs a refugee camp for the 3rd time, and a line of starving people at a bakery, and Israeli rabbis call on Netanyahu to bomb Al Shifa Hospital with 12,000 patients, babies, pregnant women, wounded, elderly and refugees sheltering there. Israel is the opposite of a "civilised society." They have become identical to the Nazis in their Final Solution.

The reason Trump won is because Americans can't imagine a woman in command. Or, because the youth stayed home in disgust at the Democrats aiding and abetting genocide. Or, because most Americans know what a woman is, and don't like men taking women's place at the Olympics. Or, because Americans have had it with the rising cost of living, compared with wages, even though the corporations are raking it in, and they think Trump will fix it. Or, because Harris is a cipher, a gutless, jelly-spined, yes woman who failed to show she stood for anything, and failed to differentiate herself from the incredibly unpopular Joe Biden. Or all of the above.

@er1761 They were not given "complete control" over Gaza at all. That is arrant disinformation. There was a 16 year control over their borders, it controlled what and who went in and out. The Israelis also annexed the territorial waters of Gaza, stopping fishermen from fishing and stopping Gaza from developing their massive natural gas reserves. Also, when the Palestinians peacefully protested all this in a march, the Israelis shot at them, even those in wheelchairs, or medical staff assisting the people they shot! Did you know that Hamas began as a charity, a humanitarian charity, but the ongoing violence of Israel made them turn to armed resistance? Well, it's true. You need to educate yourself. Anyway, as a majority of Gaza is under 18 now, none of them were of voting age in 2006. So how are they complicit, and to be "blamed" for Hamas, then? It's a nonsensical claim.

@ricktd6891 NASA has a great graphic titled : "The Relentless Rise of Carbon Dioxide," that shows that atmospheric CO2 has never risen above 300PPM in the last 800 000 years - check it out, people, and see what a loon this joker, Rick, is, with his claim that atmospheric CO2 rose to 4300 PPM whilst falling deep into an ice age😂. In fact, atmospheric CO2 falls going into Ice Ages, and rises in the interglacial periods within rather set limits - about 200ppm in ice ages, and 280ppm in warmer interglacial periods - until the Industrial Revolution, and especially abruptly shot up since the 1950's to levels it had never reached over many glacial and interglacial periods, over many millennia.

@ricktd6891 Unlike you, I'm not expecting anyone reading my comments to accept baseless claims or assertions I make, I'm pointing them to the most recent, comprehensive, multidisciplinary, longterm scientific study made on climate change, and the NASA science site. Unlike you, with your unbacked opinions (and weak insults) I don't expect people to be stupid enough to believe random assertions made in YouTube comments.
P.s. It's cannot, not "can not," and advice, not "advise."

@kingmufasa8929 No. The Zionists block the trucks, destroy the food, burn trucks, drag the drivers out and assault them, the IDF block thousands of trucks at the crossings where they are lined up for many kilometres, they bomb aid warehouses, send missiles to kill aid workers including those who come from ally countries, they have burned down the UNRWA headquarters in Jerusalem, they have tried to destroy the UN aid organisation working inside Gaza with false accusations to the world that have since been disproven, they have repeatedly shot at people gathered to recieve food aid from convoys ie. The Flour Massacre. And most importantly for the ICJ case into whether Israel is committing genocide, Israel declared their INTENT to stop "all food, water electricity" as they were dealing with "human animals."

@terryfall8915 Well, perhaps you'll realise you're a one-eyed hypocrite yourself, when you say that all Christians are judgemental about everyone else, as well as about other "sects" as you put it, when you yourself do the same thing, but from a non-Christian stance. And, no, whether or not Jenna Ellis is "a true Christian" isn't what we've been discussing. We've been discussing whether all Christians are judgemental, awful, unkind people. You initially took irrational offence simply because I said that there were nice Christians in the world, which my experience has proven there are. And lastly, I am defending the kind Christians in the world even though I myself am now agnostic. Not all Christians - or for that matter - Jews, Moslems, Buddhists, or any other religion, are as judgemental as Jenna Ellis, or it seems, as you.

@wolfgangdopke5290 If you had listened to this report, or indeed ANY report of this situation, you would have heard that it is the Israelis holding the trucks back because they are claiming that they have to "find" a way to search all the trucks because they MIGHT be smuggling weapons into Hamas. Furthermore, the Israelis imposed a permanent blockade of Gaza in 2007, with a POLICY of only allowing JUST enough food into Gaza to keep the Palestinians JUST above the starvation level. That food comes from the United Nations, NOT from Israel. The UN says that over 65% of Gazan's are FOOD INSECURE as a consequence of Israels BLOCKADE. Not only that, the Israelis BOMBED the Gazan's power plant and main sewage plant TWICE (WHY?), polluting fish stocks in the ocean, and polluting their very limited land available to grow their own food, destroying their farmland. ALSO, the Israelis have TAKEN OVER EVERY water source in the whole region, giving them the power to turn the water on and off AT WILL to an ENTIRE POPULATION! Which they frequently do. Also, the water they ALLOW in is untreated and dirty, and gives the Gazan people diseases. Moreover, Israel doesn't ALLOW water to be trucked from the West Bank to Gaza (even though Israel itself relies on trucking water). Water apartheid is one of the worst things Israel does to Gaza and the West Bank. Since Israel imposed the blockade and water apartheid on Gaza the amount of food Gaza has been able to produce has tumbled by 30%. Also since the Israeli BLOCKADE of Gaza began in 2007, Israel has deliberately LIMITED the KIND and QUALITY of materials that pass into Gaza as UN aid. As for the Israelis giving "free" medicine to Palestinians😂- that is false, they also DELIBERATELY LIMIT certain types of medicine given as UN aid from entering Gaza, one specific kind of medicine they limit is medicines for CANCER patients. You really are tragically misinformed, or maliciously spreading disinformation. Lastly, it is against International Criminal Law to set up a system in which a group of people are treated as second class citizens, and to limit necessary things like food and water to that population, in a system of APARTHEID ie "inhuman acts resulting from the policies and practices of apartheid, and similar policies and practices of racial segregation and discrimination"), as Israel has done for decades. Apartheid is a CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY under International Law, according to the APARTHEID CONVENTION.

@joansmith7649 Actually, I cited figures from the United Nations, from Interpol, AND from the U.S Department of Justice. YOU on the other hand, FAILED to support the claim you made that studies have found that incestuous desires are "100% normal" when a commenter asked you to. Instead, you made the ludicrous claim that studies had been done, but that they couldn't be made public because the participants identities might be revealed (despite the fact that study participants are never revealed). In lieu of studies, you pointed the commenter to porn hubs as evidence. Therefore, I think I have cited far more reliable evidence than you. Not only that, at first you claimed to be a therapist for sexual offenders in prison, but THEN I caught you claiming to someone else that you are a lawyer representing exclusively sexual offenders, and when I called you out on it you deftly pirouetted into being BOTH a therapist AND a lawyer for a large legal firm. All while saying incestuous desires is "100% normal" and comparing people who have them to "repressed" (I think you meant "suppressed") people of various sexual "orientations" and black people, and women! You really are so transparent.
1
-
@joansmith7649 As you CLAIM I haven't presented evidence for the prevalence of sexual abuse against children I shall represent my evidence here: According to the U.N Children's Fund UNICEF - "1 in 10 girls have been forced to engage in sex, millions more, including boys, never tell anyone, for fear of stigma and reprisals." Furthermore, according to Bjorn Sellstrom, Coordinator of Crimes against Children for Interpol, the vast majority of increase in sexual crimes against children is crimes against "white victims in the Western part of the world," particularly "very violent abuse of pre-pubescent or toddler boys." *Quoted from U.N News. Moreover, according to statistics compiled by the U.S Department of Justice, less than 10% of sexually abused children are abused by a stranger. In fact, according to their statistics, 34% of child sexual assault victims under 18 are abused by a family member. That is why flippant claims in public that one is sexually attracted to one's daughter is no LAUGHING matter, despite what ex-president Trump may think.

@SuperScarab 😂🤣NO they did NOT. The ICJ rapidly returned an INTERIM judgement that there is a "plausible" case that Israel is committing gen0cide in Gaza, and ordered Israel to stop blocking food into Gaza (engineering a famine is genocide under the Genocide Convention) and to stop the IDF from committing other war crimes at once. The final judgement of whether Israel is committing a genocide will take years of deliberation, as usual in these cases. By ruling Israel's actions in Gaza as a "plausible" genocide the ICJ said it looks like one, sounds like one, acts like one, and we will examine all the evidence, which is still piling up. Especially as Israel is attacking Rafah, and has closed the crossing into Gaza, stopping ALL food and water and other supplies now, it is almost inevitable that the ICJ will hand down a final ruling that Israel committed genocide. You cannot count only the people Israel has killed by bombs and guns, you must count those killed by the famine which Israel has engineered.
1
-
@JackBackman-rd1uw There is no assumed "Hamas' modus operandi." That is hasbara. Furthermore, engineered famine is a means of genocide, irrespective of Israel's laughable claims of "warning" and "moving civilians out of harms way." In fact, Israel has bombed or shot civilians as they attempted to follow Israel's directions to "safe zones," little Hind and her family a case in point. And now Israel is about to decimate Rafah, the precise location in the South that they previously claimed would be 100% safe. Not only that, Israel has bombed refugees in their tents in the swamp on the coast of Gaza. Everyone knows this, except for you it seems. Besides, warning people to get out f their homes or die, and then never letting them safely return is blatant "ethnic cleansing," which is a euphemism for genocide.

I care deeply for the 1 million children in Gaza. Shutting off their water and food and medicine, and bombing them, is unconscionable. How can the weak, the ill, the very young, the pregnant, the infirm and the elderly get out of there? The poor have no cars, the roads are blocked by rubble, and the warning given is too short! Also, if they go, the Zionist settlers will almost definitely move into their land and homes, and say they have "always been" there. And the US and UK will support it.

Don't dare tell me that this isn't climate change at work. If it was an isolated incident, maybe that would be believable, but extremes like this are happening in Pakistan, Bangladesh, China, Texas, Florida, Tasmania, Victoria, New South Wales, Queensland, Germany, Spain, Greece, the Arctic, the UK, France and so on, and so on, with increasing severity and regularity every year. The planet's oceans can no longer absorb the excess heat trapped by CO2, and so heat over the oceans is destabilising the weather patterns, and the planet's thermoregulation. Earth has lost its ability to reach homeostasis, and is fluctuating wildly. We're not very smart at all.

@lolawants2008 Putin didn't "mysteriously seize power out of nowhere," he worked for Boris Yeltsin, who thought he would be a great replacement as leader, although Putin wasn't very popular until he attacked Chechnya shortly before the election. As for Murdoch, he made a move into Russian media in 2000, with News Outdoor, a huge billboard company. Additionally, one of his managers at Fox News was later found to have moved from Fox to help a Russian oligarch set up, over four years starting in 2011, I think, a television propaganda network which has worked aggressively to promote the war in Donbas. Unsurprising, Murdoch has extensive investments in oil and gas, and his news network has promoted war in geographical areas which have major gas or oil deposits.

Everything in this story is absolutely true. Look after your strength, balance and mind as much as you can, people. And remember, there are so many systems and inventions in place to help you these days. Fall alarms, reminder apps, paying bills online, online grocery shopping, YouTube channels with exercise programs to help elders maintain their mobility, hearing aids, electric tricycles to replace your vehicle if your licence gets taken away, toilets that wash wash and dry you...the list goes on and on. Whatever you do, maintain your independence. And go to bed early and get up and go for a walk.

@frankrivers4568 My grandfather was a German under Hitler's genocidal regime (and he managed to avoid the army as he was a writer and Hitler wanted to preserve what he saw as German culture), and my great grandmother barely survived it, as she was originally from Poland, and I can tell you that people most definitely knew that Nazis were rounding up Jews and Poles, and the mentally ill, and Romany and making them disappear. There were huge ghettos full of starving Jews, and Kristalnacht. Don't kid yourself that ordinary Germans, soldiers or not, didn't know it. My own great grandmother was denounced as a "Pole" to the nazis by a jealous rival, but luckily nothing came of it as other people vouched for her (as she was a very popular seamstress, and crucial to the wealthy women of the town). People knew, and not every soldier liked it, but the Nazi party loved the extermination of Jews, and so did Hitler - and Kanye loves Hitler, and claims the holocaust is a fake. So if you support Kanye - still - then you support Hitler, Nazism, and Holocaust denial. If you don't, abandon Kanye. Simple as that.

@williamaycock579 Here's some context: He said that in response to the short term emergency of the Ukraine war, and cutting fossil fuels from Russia. He also said, which is fact, that fossil fuels will still be needed in the interim before we achieve a total green energy transition. Since then, there has been a huge price war in solar production in China, and Europe installed masses of solar, so the extra fossil fuels weren't needed. You shouldn't try to hide the context of quotes, mate.
Since then, Musk has said the world would save trillions by completely transitioning to clean energy by 2050. Which it would, as solar and battery costs are plummeting, while fossil and nuclear generation costs are skyrocketing.

@gwine9087 The US is NOT the world. 13.2% of cars sold worldwide are electric, and Tesla is the market leader, worldwide (closely pursued by BYD). In Germany, 32.5% of vehicles sold are electric. In China, every 4th car sold is electric, UK, 23%. You've got to stop staring into your navel. The IEA says 16.5 million EV's were on the road in 2021, tripling in 3 years, and Britain, France, and Germany have pledged to ban sales of combustion engines in 2025. Meanwhile, Tesla is number one in the electric car market, and Tesla Model S and X both tripled their sales in one year.

@Punkchic207 Genuine answer: They should have reacted like a civilised nation, and responded with targeted special operations to get the actual perpetrators. Not by bombing every building and bulldozing the human remains into trenches, and grading over it to conceal the skeletal remains. At 2 months in there was a 40,000 death toll (and that was not even counting those buried under the rubble!), and Israel had destroyed the ability to keep records. 15 months later, at 20,000 fatalities /month, the real death toll can be estimated at 300,000 dead Palestinians (not including those buried beneath rubble, or dead from starvation, dehydration or exposure). Israel should not have responded by committing ethnic cleansing and genocide. Radislav Krstic, the Bosnian Serb general was convicted of genocide for massacring 8,000 people. The Israeli Jews are committing genocide. This shame will be upon the Israeli Jews forever. This stain will never be washed away.

@yuval1716 All lies. I recommend everyone to watch a video by AJ+ about How Israel was made, and the Nakbe, or Catastrophe of 1948, in which minority Zionist Jews used the pull out of Britain as the time to drive 700,000 Palestinians off their land, cities, homes, railways, ports, roads, theatres, schools, and so on - in a bloody ethnic "cleansing." They then organised ship and planeloads of Jews from around Europe to come into Palestine and moved them right into the Palestinians cities, farms, and homes of the Palestinians who were (those still alive) in refugee camps. Stop your propaganda.

Bangladesh and China had the biggest floods in their history this year, Germany last year. Rivers around the world are drying up because the snows in the catchments are too meagre. Underground water supplies are being pumped dry. Heatwaves everywhere. Florida has the worst hurricane in its history. Snow freezes Texas, and takes out its power and water supply. The sea ice is very thin in the Arctic, methane is released from the Siberian seabed, and Greenland permafrost thaws at an incredible rate. The Poles, meanwhile, heat at a rate more than four times faster than the rest of the world does, and the ocean currents are effected by the release of melting ice into the oceans, which affects the air currents above the oceans, which affect the weather patterns. Moisture builds up in the atmosphere over the heating oceans, which are full of hotspots because they have reached the upper limits of the heat they can absorb from the heating atmosphere. And the list goes on...

@The_Last_Rick Whether a religious tract says anything is totally irrelevant to international law, or to the reality of modern genocide in Palestine. Furthermore, Israel's expansionist policies are ILLEGAL under international law, in FACT the ICJ has just ruled that Israel's presence in the West Bank is ILLEGAL under international LAW. Pursuant to that ruling, the UNGA has resolved that Israel must leave The West Bank within 12 months. As for historical "animosity" from Arabs to Jews, you fail to understand that Arabs allowed Jews to peacefully take refuge from European pogroms, and live in their lands for centuries. But most importantly, you absolutely fail to comprehend that eliminating a colonialist political entity (as Hamas resolves to do), and annihilating an entire people and stealing their land (as Israel is doing) are two entirely different things. The former is NOT genocide, but the latter, is.

Official UN Figures of that conflict 2008-2020: DEAD: Israelis - 251; Palestinians - 5,600. INJURED: Israelis - 5,559; Palestinians - 115,000.
Israelis are the aggressors. The figures speak for themselves. Not to mention the 15,000 Palestinians killed in the Nakba in 1948, or the 750,000 Palestinians Zionists drove off their land into refugee camps in 1948. A practice which Israeli "settlers" continue to this day. Now Israel is ordering 1.1 million people to leave their homes and flee under threat of death, and that is ethnic cleansing. For those who refuse, the Israelis have shut off water, food, fuel, electricity and medicine, while they bomb them - that is attempted GENOCIDE.

@fadumoali5027 Yep. Every war that the US gets involved in, I Google and search up whether there is oil or gas there. I search on oil and gas sites, to verify anything I find out. There nearly always is. There is massive reserves of gas under Donbas, too, that the US was going to develop with Ukraine, until Putin decided he wanted it. So, no surprise the US is involved there, either. Also, the Afghanistan War facilitated an attempt to build a pipeline for oil and gas from the Caspian Basin north of Afghanistan, from Turkmenistan, across Afghanistan into Pakistan and India.

@aviedelson945 How do you make an excuse for the latest video out of the West Bank, then, of Zionist Israeli "settlers" tying up half-naked Palestinians and beating them, dragging them, burning them, urinating on them, torturing them, and smexually assaulting them? This was reported in an Israeli newspaper , and the video is available on TYT World. There is another video on Al Jazeera of "settlers" shooting a West Bank man harvesting olives in his olive grove (a few days ago), as they try to take over his farm and grove. What is your lying cover story for that evidence of Israeli thievery? So far, the Israelis were given a half of Palestine, and since then they have stolen all of the land but 3%, and kept 97% of the land for themselves (even though they are only half the population as the Palestinians). And yet people like you come up with these ridiculous comments about how "generous" and peace-loving the Israelis are, and how destructive Palestinians are. Only morons believe that narrative now. Ps. Go watch "Palestine in the1920's - the Other Side of the Palestinian Story," on Al Jazeera,"and you will be educated on how developed Palestine was before the British Mandate, and the subsequent Nakba of 1948.

@annkristoff4303 Every country in NATO asked to be in it for protection, and all those in Europe wanted protection from Russia, who has proven itself aggressive. It invaded Afghanistan, too, you do realise. Also, Russia has been invading Africa, via Putin's erstwhile friend, Prigozhin's private army. It has also invaded and taken Crimea, invaded Chechnya, invaded Georgia, helped slaughter and starve innocents in Syria, and now is busy bombing hospitals and grain silos and train stations and apartment blocks in Ukraine - so they all have GOOD REASON to want to be a part of NATO, as is their RIGHT as INDEPENDENT NATIONS.

@ryn704 My niece is trans, so I think I know quite well what trans is. And actually, there are quite a lot of people who get health complications, or are even more unhappy after transitioning than before. And that proportion rises substantially after about 8 years, a fact that some trans activists, and some people from the public who know very little about it, become very emotional about, verbally abusing detransitioners who want to tell about their experiences. They receive no support from the medical professionals or politicians who purport to care for trans health, or rights, either. I just think their health and rights matter too. Let's hear the full story, not just the happy story we like to hear.

That's right, Owen! I will never be the same again either! To witness the way our media and leaders have allowed the deranged and depraved mass atrocities against innocent people, especially children and pregnant women (but innocent men, too) go on, unreported for so long, with no action whatsoever, has annihilated my faith in our institutions. England has always had that racist, colonialist bent, and the US doesn't even care about mass murders of their kids at school, but I thought we in our developed, rich countries were past committing, aiding, and abetting genocide!

Al Jazeera is a far more truthful and unbiased channel than the (once respected) BBC. People are so close to dying of thirst in Gaza, that they are drinking seawater in desperation. FURTHERMORE, it is the ISRAELIS who SHUT OFF supplies of WATER, FOOD, ELECTRICITY, FUEL, and MEDICINE to Palestinian CIVILIANS - NOT HAMAS. And yet here BBC and the USA are, warning HAMAS not to stop water and food getting through to people! YOU are the WAR CRIMINALS who shut off the food, water, medicine and so on. YOU! HYPOCRITES. Signed, a 56 year old Australian woman who sees past your bias and Islamophobia.

@ShimonPeer The highest paid lawyers aid and abet criminals in getting away with their crimes. I don't know of a single famous Israeli doctor, other than Freud, who was a weirdo who has been largely left in the dust of the past; all the best high tech comes from Japan, Sth. Korea, China, US and Germany and many others above Israel, and as for scientists, Italy, England and Germany have made the most scientific discoveries since the Renaissance. As for what Palestinians invented, in around 1500 BCE a genius living in the general area of Syria-Palestine invented the first alphabet, which was adopted by the Phoenicians.

Oh, yeah, Biden, you've been working around the clock to release the US hostages for over a year now, and STILL going, without success! You're utterly INCOMPETENT and WEAK. Not to mention lying. You couldn't care less, as long as you get your clutches onto more gas and oil in the Middle East. Same as in Iraq, Syria and parts of Palestine, like Gaza Marine Gas Field, and the Golan Heights! So corrupt it makes me queasy to think of how many children you have sacrificed in pursuit of it. But they're only "Arab" kids, not as valuable as Israeli or US kids, hey.

Israel deliberately blockaded quality building materials, musical instruments, chocolate, A3 paper, crayons, teddy bears, solar panels, water filters, certain seeds, books, water pumps etc. It seems from this evidence that Israel is dedicated to making quality of life as bad as possible for all Palestinian people.

Don't speak nonsense. Palestinians ARE the victims: In the last ten years before Oct 7 Israelis had killed TEN TIMES MORE Palestinians than Palestinians had killed Israelis over the same period. That is according to official UN figures. Not only that, they steal Palestinian land, destroy their olive trees, demolish their houses, destroy their wells, cisterns and water tanks; kidnap and detain their children without trial; deny them visas and passports; blow up their sewage treatment plants and other municipal works, deny them the right to visit relatives; blockade all supplies into the area, lock them up behind walls and checkpoints; deny them fishing rights; claim even all rainwater as their property, thereby forcing them to buy water from Israel; shoot at them from helicopters and tanks; limit their food, medical, and cultural supplies; break up their families, and then have the audacity to call THEM Nazis! I suppose Hamas is trying to get the world to take notice and enforce the original UN two state solution. It simply just can't go on like this anymore. The world's eyes have been well and truly opened to the criminal way Israel treats the Palestinians.

@markanthony3275 Bullshit, the forests around the wold, for example, the Amazon and the Redwoods are drying out, being infested by bugs, not replacing themselves with saplings, due to wrong temperatures for their species, or burningdue to climate change. CO2 isn't the only factor affecting plants, temperature affects their enzymes and total function, moisture loss affects their roots and overall function, and unprecedented massive fires are destroying old growth forests that are great for sequestering CO2, after which new forests are not growing back, as the temperature and rainfall isn't suitable anymore. Maybe you should have learnt something in the science field since the very basic high school biology course you mentioned.

@orionbetelgeuse1937 Climate change dries out the undergrowth and the leaves, and in hot, dry, windy conditions, embers from somewhere else, can travel 5 km on the wind, and land in that kindling. Not only that, summer storms light bushfires with lightning, and those fires can actually lead to pyrocumulonimbus, or "firestorm" clouds which set off even more fires, driving the embers before it. So yes, climate change, which is caused by humans (this time around) starts forest fires, and spreads them, on an unprecedented scale.

@kadmow You need to check out the figures from the IPCC, the International Energy Agency and the UN. My figures are correct. Yours are dead wrong. Also, solar and wind make up 80% of the increase in energy demand in 2022, combined with hydro and bioenergy, renewables met 92% of the rise, and by the end of the renewables surge this year, renewables will meet 100% of all new demand. For the first time fossil fuel output has declined by 0.3%, and will continue to, due in no large part to the fact that they are cheaper, by far. According to The New Scientist, this is the tipping point, for fossil fuels fall. Fossil fuels are entering a death spiral.

@michaelw2288 According to OCHA prior to Oct 7 64% of Gaza children were food insecure due to the Israeli blockade. Also, 124,500 little children lived in food poverty, and 90% of the water supply was unfit for human consumption (Israel kept bombing their water treatment plants). Furthermore, 30,000 children under 5 were estimated to be stunted due to malnutrition due to the ongoing blockade of food into Gaza prior to Oct.7, and 7,700 children suffered from life threatening wasting. That was before Oct.7. NOW, there are over 106,000 breastfeeding mothers who are struggling to get enough food and water to maintain their breastmilk supply, and feed their baby. children are starting to starve to death - like this little 2-month-old infant - while Israelis trance dance in ecstasy as they block food aid into Gaza that could save them. Those Israeli zionists are genocidal criminals dancing as babies starve and die. What sort of person are you, defending such depravity?

@maxb9315 Appeal to Authority CAN be a logical fallacy, but it depends upon whether the testimony of authority is strong or weak. "Thus, the way to differentiate between a legitimate and a fallacious appeal to authority is by evaluating the nature and strength of who is giving the testimony." The different types of the Appeal to Authority are:
" *Legitimate Appeal to Authority.
*Appeal to Unqualified Authority.
*Appeal to Anonymous Authority.
Legitimate Appeal to Authority.
Legitimate appeals to authority involves testimony from individuals who are truly experts in their fields and are giving advice that is in the realm of their expertise.
Not every reliance upon the testimony of an authority figure is fallacious. We often rely upon such testimony, and we can do so for a very good reason. Their talent, training and experience put them in a position to evaluate and report upon evidence not readily available to everyone else. But we must keep in mind that for such an appeal to be justified certain standards must be met:
1. The authority is a (legitimate) expert in the area of knowledge under consideration.
2. The statement of the authority concerns his or her area of mastery.
3. There is (widespread) agreement among experts in the area of knowledge under consideration."
Furthermore, it must be possible to verify the claim of the qualified authority using the usual tools and methods, "even though that may take a long time (which is usually why an Appeal to Authority is made in the first place."
Your quotation appears to be referring to the fact that even if these conditions are met, there is no Guarantee of Truth. "We are looking at inductive arguments here, and "inductive arguments do not have guaranteed true conclusions, even when the premises are true. Instead we have conclusions which are PROBABLY TRUE."
Hopefully this clears up for you that an Appeal to Authority is NOT a logical fallacy if the authority is a qualified authority in the area in question, there is widespread agreement by other authorities in the field on the question, and it could conceivably be verified whether the claim was true by other means such as seeking original facts and data (although that may take a very long time).
* This explanation of the Appeal to Authority is taken from thoughtco.com/logical-fallacies-appeal-to-authority-250336

@maxb9315 Funny that you are appealing to an authority in order to argue that appeals to authority are logical fallacies!😂
However, I'll play along. Your quotation appears to be referring to the fact that there is No Guarantee of Truth when we make an appeal to authority to support an argument, as we are looking at inductive arguments (rather than supporting our proposition with original facts and data) here, and "inductive arguments do not have guaranteed true conclusions even if the premises are true. Instead, we have conclusions which are PROBABLY true."
"The truth of the matter is we can't verify every single thing ourselves, and thus will always have to make use of the testimony of experts."
"Types of Appeal to Authority.
1. Legitimate Appeal to Authority.
2. Appeal to Unqualified Authority.
3. Appeal to Anonymous Authority.
Legitimate Appeal to Authority.
Legitimate appeals to authority involves testimony from individuals who are truly experts in their fields and are giving advice that is within the realm of their expertise."
Explanation
Not every reliance upon the testimony of authority figures is fallacious. We often rely upon such testimony, and we can do so for very good reason. Their talent, training and experience put them in a position to EVALUATE and report on evidence not readily available to everyone else. But we must keep in mind that for such an appeal to be justified, certain standards must be met:
1. The authority is an (actual) expert in the area of knowledge under consideration.
2. The statement of the authority concerns his or her area of mastery.
3. There is (widespread) agreement among experts in the area of knowledge under consideration."
Furthermore, it must be conceivably possible to verify the evidence of the authority (or authorities) cited. "Such verification may be time consuming, but that is usually why an appeal to authority is made in the first place."
In conclusion, "...the way to differentiate between a legitimate and a fallacious appeal to authority is by evaluating the nature and strength of who is giving the testimony."

@washaa I'm commenting here because @maxb9315 seems to have blocked further argument from me, and other people may read my reply to him here. I hope you don't mind. I pointed out to him that the different types of Appeal to Authority are:
"1. Appeal to Legitimate Authority.
2. Appeal to Unqualified Authority.
3. Appeal to Anonymous Authority.
Not every reliance upon the testimony of an authority is fallacious. It depends upon whether certain standards have been met:
1. The authority is an (actual) expert in the area of knowledge under consideration.
2. The statement of the authority concerns his or her area of mastery.
3. There is (widespread) agreement among experts in the area of knowledge under consideration."
Also, even agreement among experts does not guarantee the truth of the conclusion, "instead we have conclusions which are probably true." To make a watertight argument it should be possible to independently verify and evaluate the conclusions of said experts with empirical phenomena.
For maxb9315 to proclaim that an argument from authority is a logical fallacy is incorrect, as the fallaciousness, or not, of the argument's logic when appealing to an authority depends upon whether these standards have been met. Furthermore, his statement that Valkyri3Z was making an argument from authority is irrelevant, because as far as I can tell, Valkyrie wasn't making an argument at all, but merely voicing an opinion that something "means" a lot, which could simple be voicing a feeling that it meant a lot personally that a prominent Jewish intellectual was taking a stance that argued for honest terminology in the debate about the Palestinian and Israeli conflict.

@markojotic No, that is the number of fully identified, not the number of dead. The number of dead Gaza Palestinians, according to the UN is 35,303+, with over 10,000 yet to be fully identified due to the brutality of their deaths, and that 35,303 does not include over 10,000 people + still under the rubble who were recorded calling the emergency services for help, in vain.

@auggiet8380 One only has to observe her demeanour when discussing trans issues to see she is worked up about it. I don't target women as overemotional "hysterics" as that is sexist, and I'm pro- human rights, and, consequently, women's rights (including the right to be heard). I just think that when more and more trans people are claiming that they were damaged rather than helped, that that message is important, and deserves a hearing, too. To not do so reeks of bias, and could lead to other people being similarly hurt. Ideally, journalists aren't tethered to a political "side," and search for the truth to tell the people. I, myself, am for all people, real people, not any political ideology.

@nathantudor5763 Of COURSE they were, along with all the hospitals, all the universities, the victims of the Flour Massacre, the mosques, the ancient Christian churches (like St. Porphyrius'), the museums, the archaeological sites, the medical centres, and the UN and other food aid warehouses that have been systematically targeted - are you ridiculously claiming that they were ALL accidents? Even the old lady shot by snipers who laid siege to a church in Gaza for days ? 🤣😂 Pull the other one, "mate". This is the politics of elimination in action. Look it up.
1
-
@nathantudor5763 Look at the pattern. All the hospitals, all the universities, many food aid warehouses, ancient churches, the Flour Massacre, little sweet Hind, ancient St. Porphyrius church in Gaza, the mosques, the water and power infrastructure, the roads, 80% of all liveable structures in Gaza razed or destroyed. How much evidence is enough for apologists like you?

@HiIAmGabe Jews were the third most populous people there. Palestinians were the most populous by far, followed by Christians, and then a small minority of Jews. The Jews were only ever there at all because the Moslems accepted them there as refugees during the pogroms in Europe, and lived with them in peace, until the zionist movement began, with British help. When the British left, Ben-Gurion and the zionists massacred 15,000 Palestinians, and violently drove 750,000 Palestinians off land they had lived on for countless generations, into giant refugee camps. Then an influx of zionists from around the world came in ships and planes, and moved right into the disposed Palestinian's cities and farms. That was the NAKBA, the Catastrophe, and the zionist "settlers" have been continuing with it ever since. Many of the original Jews, who had lived in Palestine with the Palestinians for centuries, rejected the zionist movement, and were violently attacked themselves by zionists. They still reject the state of Israel to this day, and they have their own rabbis who reject the state of Israel as ungodly. Their movement is called Neterei Karta. They are beaten and persecuted by zionist Jews to this day, and imprisoned for being conscientious objectors who refuse to serve in the Israeli "Defence" Force, and who call the Israeli zionists, terrorists. So the Jews who have lived in Palestine for centuries reject the Israeli state as terrorists. They follow God's Commandments: Thou Shalt Not Kill, Thou Shalt Not Steal.

@TheRustyLM You speak as if batteries had never been invented.😂As if the neighbourhood battery would be the size of a house! Besides, wind and solar complement each other at different times of the 24 hour cycle. You really would be surprised at how effective solar and wind and battery combinations are if you had a look at the huge installations in Australia, Texas, California, and the like. Batteries have come down in price by more than 600% over the past decade or so, and they are still decreasing in price the more demand for them there is, as solar is increasingly deployed. Coal, nukes, and even gas just can't compete anymore. They are all in their death throes. You'll probably even live long enough to see it, even though you sound like a an old boy. There is now more new investment in solar, globally, than in ANY other form of energy generation.

@DatsunBloke7357 They are the people we nearly wiped out by driving them off their land, and by giving them blankets infected with smallpox (which raced along the populations living along the river systems); they are the people we gave flour to (with ground glass in it, that cut them up on the inside) pretending to help them when they were hungry because we drove them off the hunting grounds; they are the people who we "employed" on stations and kept their wages "safe" for them, but then never paid to them; they are the people whose children we stole, and put to work as unpaid domestic servants under the guise of "training" them (forced unpaid labour is actually slavery, but we don't want to call it that in Australia); they are the people we went on "hunting" parties after, on horseback, sweeping down upon their campsites, shooting them and burning their camps; they are the people we drove out onto infertile lands, and then, when we discovered the land had minerals under it, told that, even though we'd "given" them that land to live on, they didn't own what was under he surface of it. So then we promised to "compensate" them for robbing them of THAT massive wealth, with jobs and education, but we didn't even do that. Then, to assuage our repressed guilt, we say that all their problems are their own fault because they drink too much, ignoring the fact that Aborigines and Islanders actually drink less than the average Aussie (according to the Australian Dept. of Health), rather than our fault, for systematically breaking their society, and trying to break their spirit. But their spirit isn't broken - it's too strong for that. So I'm calling out to all the other Aussies who read this - let's vote to at least give them a Voice that - this time - can't be stolen back again.

@swagmanexplores7472 I'm not your friend. Second, a years worth of trial, presenting evidence from combat cameras, phones, and witnesses, etc, proved that the claims The Age made, that Roberts-Smith was no hero, but in fact a murderer, were NOT DEFAMATORY, and therefore were truthful claims. After this, It's likely that criminal charges will be brought.

It was the ancient Natufians (genetic ancestors of the Palestinians) who actually "carved a civilisation out of the desert" in a process that began over 14,000 years ago in a process of cultivating and reaping Emmer wheat, and which later led to them building the ancient city of Jericho. This was made possible by the exceptional spring there, that has never run dry since. Israeli hydrologists, who are experts at diverting, siphoning, and stealing water from the aquifers beneath The West Bank may finally run it dry, though. Since Israelis took control of Palestine, they have rapidly drained the ancient aquifers of Palestine. Not only is Helen Andrews a racist, she is also silly and misinformed, as most racists are.

@bourjoism3917 Russia invaded a sovereign nation and brought this all to pass. Simple as that. They are running out of missiles, and they have run out of trained soldiers. That proves the lie that they have been restraining themselves in any way. They haven't been trying to avoid mass casualties at all. They have been raining rockets upon maternity hospitals, theatres in which people are sheltering, train stations full of people, agreed upon refugee corridors, shopping centres, apartment blocks and so on. At present they are trying to cause Ukrainians to die en masse from dehydration due to Russians destroying water infrastructure, freeze to death due to destroying energy infrastructure, and starve, by reneging on the grain export agreement. So far I haven't even mentioned the widespread torture of Ukrainian civilians (including children) in areas under Russian occupation, and the mass graves containing civilians found there. You are either a gullible fool who's fallen hook, line and sinker for Russian propaganda television, or a Russian troll, or simply - to use your own word - dumb. Russians are responsible for all of this, as they instigated it - unnecessarily, and without provocation from anyone, either from Ukraine, the US, or the UK. Putin is a killer with no empathy or remorse, and he has been developing his weapons of mass destruction since he came to power. That means he meant to use them, and all the West can do is try our best to stop him, or bend the knee to a psychopathic dictator.

@PistonAvatarGuy Gas provides only 7% of Australian energy production and won't grow much, since it is more expensive than solar and wind. In fact, Australia is leading the world in proving how we can rapidly transition to renewable energy. Per capita, Australia is installing solar at twice the rate of anywhere in the world, followed by Japan and Germany. Despite the old fossils who still knock it, solar produced more energy worldwide than nuclear in 2017, and this year it will surpass worldwide hydro generation. Furthermore, in three years it will surpass worldwide coal generation, and by 2031 solar will surpass the generation capacity of nuclear, hydro, coal and gas COMBINED. Indeed, in most places in the world it is cheaper to install new solar installations (with batteries) than it is to keep existing coal plants running, as coal plants run at a loss if they are operating at less than 70% capacity, which they often are because wind and solar is so cheap. At the moment, the only thing keeping coal plants operational is contractual agreements and hefty, taxpayer-funded subsidies. In short, fossil fuels have no future anywhere in the world, and the future of energy is solar (in the world's sunbelt, where most people live) and wind, outside of that.

In dry conditions, dry thunderstorms, in which any rain evaporates before it reaches the ground, are a common occurrence. If that happens in tinderbox conditions of drought (as caused by climate change) a fire can easily start, and the hotter the land is, the stronger the winds off the ocean will be at night, causing wildfires to spread out of control. No single human is needed. Rather, every human using fossil fuels is responsible for the Hawaii fire, and the Grecian fires, and the Canadian fires, and the Australian fires etc...

@truthgiver8286 Yes, it does, when you look at the big picture. The entire world, especially all the young people in the counties that fund Israel's military, has turned against them, for they see them for the "plausibly gen0ci..." colonists that they are. Furthermore, Spain and Belgium have decided to recognise Palestine as a State, in order to put a stop to this constant attempt to obliterate an entire people from their ancestral homeland. Israel has gone too far, and the international community has had it with them. The US will be forced to stop funding them, or risk being shunned by the world. Israel is likely to go the way of French Algeria, or at least Sth. Africa within a couple of decades.

@jeckjeck3119 Are you a woman? If not, then you're a "tool" - calling a woman who has both had an abortion, and subsequently undergone pregnancy, childbirth, and raised an infant, singlehandedly, to a teenager (so far) - a "tool". Judging by your analogies about "tools" I reckon you are a male, and haven't. So, I think I have a bit more knowledge and experience of the matter than you do, tool. And by the way, experience goes a lot further than "common sense" which is judged to be extremely different things by different people.

@jeckjeck3119 I don't want to make choices for other women. I just think - as I clearly stated - that the issue needs all nuances to be considered, and one of them is at what week of development does a foetus have senses, feel pain, and consequently deserve the same compassion afforded women. I don't believe that a foetus' lack of power, autonomy, or ability to speak for itself should automatically disqualify it from consideration. Should people who can't walk, who have speech aphasia, or have intellectual disabilities be disqualified from having us consider their possible suffering, just because they are dependent on others in society? Perhaps, for instance, rather than just aborting foetus' society could make an effort to properly care for children whose mothers - for whatever reason - aren't able to. In this world, there are many situations that are not simply a matter of personal choice - and aborting seven month old foetuses, as you proposed, should not be one of them any more than murder should.

@mattcannon8467 I did hear the local's accounts, after they finally escaped from Mariupol (at least those who weren't bussed against their will to Russia, nor repeatedly fired on by Russians as they tried to escape along agreed refugee corridors, nor fired on while waiting in Red Cross buses to be evacuated). All of them who managed to finally escape on trains and buses out of Mariupol, praised the Azov battalion as heroes who protected them as best they could, while Russians tortured people and murdered Ukrainian civilians, burying them in a mass grave outside Mariupol, or left them rotting in the streets, where brave civilians crept out at night to bury them on the side of the street, or in the parks where they fell. That is the accounts the locals of Mariupol gave of the Azov soldiers, and of the brutal Russians. Anyone can check this.

@Qwerty-jt3po Russians were, in effect, serfs under Stalin; he was a dictator in actuality, not a communist leader. Communism was just his cover story. As for 1991 being a revolution, look how long it took before another dictator slithered his way into power, and he has remained there ever since, and the Russians just shrug, and say they aren't interested in politics, while he siphons off Russia's wealth and hides it overseas. A real patriot, your dear leader, Putin.

@mfh6982 I see a picture of Israel on my screen, tiers of white houses and trees, all standing. Then I see the rubble of Gaza, and toothless old men in wheelchairs being pushed through the hot sun to a tent camp, where Netanyahu will bomb them anyway. It IS Israelis fault - they voted in Ariel Sharon after Sabra and Shatila genocide, and they voted in Netanyahu, when they well knew his rhetoric. All this is their fault. 12,000 dead - and counting. Meanwhile, on TBN, footage of bulldozers flattening and grading waterfront land free of rubble, as TV personalities call for "settlers" to invade right away...

@tedg1609 You haven't comprehended my comment correctly, obviously. My comment clearly disapproves of how the Labor government is using our funds to lock-in fossil fuels for the next thirty years, or, if they are left as stranded assets, we taxpayers will still have to pay for them via our electricity bills. Why are they doing so, when renewables are so much cheaper already, let alone in twenty years from now? We don't need a bullshit "gas-led recovery" at all, anymore. This has already been mentioned in the latest issue of New Scientist magazine. Labor is a greenwashing organisation that exists primarily as a protection racket for fossil fuel multinational companies, it's rife with corruption, sadly. I say this as a lifelong Labor voter, who is being forced, by Labor's greenwashed policies, to vote elsewhere.

@AgapitoOtipag Israelis had killed more than ten times as many Palestinians than Palestinians had killed Israelis in the 10 years before Oct. 7 *(UN official figures). Not only that, they had taken thousands of children hostage (most taken in raids from their beds in the middle of the night, according to Human Rights Watch), and locked them up without trial, legal representation, or charge, indefinitely, and without family visits, in "administrative detention." This is done as a deliberate terror tactic. Not only that, "settler" terrorists periodically set villages in the West Bank on fire, while Palestinians are asleep in their beds, in one well known case they burned an infant to death, and his parents died within 2 days. In the court case, the "settlers" were absolved, by Israeli court, of the charge of terrorism, while Israelis outside the courthouse taunted the burned baby's grandfather about the smell, asking him if it was the smell of his grandchild being "barbecued." So, now anyone reading this will have a better understanding of why some Palestinians celebrated the attack on Oct.7. Israelis are NOT special, nor are they "chosen" by God. That is just the excuse for genocide they used in the days of the Old Testament, and it is the excuse they are using now. But it is a fiction.

The Israeli government ( via minister Yoav Gallant) declared their intent to starve the population of Gaza of food. That covers the element of intent to commit genocide. And they have followed through with it, declaring they won't let UNRWA work in Gaza anymore, and then deliberately hunting and killing alternative food aid workers that they had agreed to work with. They have also destroyed the conditions necessary for life in Gaza by destroying the infrastructure, housing, and medical facilities, and that covers another element of genocide in the Genocide Convention. Lastly, signatories to the Genocide Convention are required to PREVENT genocide, so you can't (legally) just wait until the genocide has been committed and then say "Oh! NOW I recognise it was genocide!" No, signatories must PREVENT genocide. Also, they must do all they can to STOP the genocide, AND they must stop anyone who is AIDING and ABETTING the genocide, such as by providing all the weapons to carry it out. The UK should be doing all they can to STOP the US from providing all the weapons to Israel. Those are the UK government's responsibilities under the Genocide Convention.

I don't know how to handle this anymore. I've suffered things most people would find intolerable, but I am finding it, at this stage, almost unbearable to watch this, and especially to listen to the powerful defend this, anymore. I'm actually starting to get sick when I hear them and their shallow, Islamophobic, hateful words couched in shallow phrases like "self-defence" which mean nothing but a slap in the face of starving, brutalised children, at this point. As I say, I have suffered myself, but I can only imagine what those poor Palestinian mothers, fathers, grandmothers, grandfathers, young people, and children are suffering. What a hard old hag Pelosi is!

@daves465 Israel has been blockading them on land and sea since 2005.Israel even lock them out of their fishing waters, and they are a fisher people, as well as great olive, orange, watermelon and eggplant farmers. The Israelis stole all their orange groves, build "settlements" on their ancient eggplant terraces, and lock them out of, or uproot their ancient olive trees. They have uprooted over 800,000 Palestinian owned olive trees since 1967, some of which were up to 5,000 years old. That is the Israeli people - so "generous" to "give them an opportunity for independence" !🤣

@mdelcb9915 If you'd read my actual comments you'd know I didn't miss it. However, it was a LONG time ago, and lasted, as a unified kingdom, for only 300 years, and for another 200 years as a divided and crumbling entity, after which it was absorbed into the Assyrian Empire. It's pretty ridiculous for "Israel" to claim that small period of time so long ago entitles them to that land. It highlights their hyper inflated sense of entitlement. Also, the Muslims ruled there for 400 years, then the Christians for a hundred years, and then the Muslims for another unbroken 700 years. It is a Muslim land, NOT a Jewish land. Facts matter.

Israel has raised hundreds of flags on the Gaza coast and port. Meanwhile, Biden is in discussions to develop the gas in Gaza and build a pipeline into Europe. This whole thing was planned, to safeguard the trillions of cubic metres of Gas in 4th Gaza Marine Gas Field. The Netherlands has investigated and found that Texas' Noble Energy (sold now to Chevron...) has, in cahoots with the Israelis, been siphoning gas from the Gaza Marine Gas field. Four months ago, Israel bypassed Hamas to strike a deal with the corrupt Palestinian Authority to develop the Gaza Marine Field. Not long after finding out about it, Hamas attacked on Oct 7. To the EU, US and Britain, the ends justify the means, even if the means is GENOCIDE. Western hegemony relies on cheap gas in the era of climate change, according to the fossil fuel profiteers 😞💀.

Cultures that eat mostly plant-based diets, consuming meat only on special occasions, and only 2-3 eggs a week, at most, produce the most centenarians who're healthy and active, of any eating pattern. These are known as the Blue Zones. Eating less fish, and mostly sweet potatoes and greens is why more Okinawans live longer, healthier, than the already long-lived and healthy Japanese. Attia loves to ignore the evidence of the Blue Zones, and get into abstruse science, which he freely interprets. I prefer experts like Luigi Fontana and Valter Longo, who stick to the evidence.

@nervesconcord Fun FACT: The name Palestine derives from a 3,200 year old documented name "Peleset" used to refer to people in the Southern Levant, who are mentioned on the ancient Egyptian Merneptah Stele. The Peleset's land included the well known cities of Gaza, Ekron, Gath, Ashdod, Ascalon, Timnah and Tantur. Indeed, the whole area from Lebanon to Egypt. Indeed, all of these towns survived with similar names until they were mostly depopulated by Israel in 1948. Furthermore, seven known Assyrian clay tablets and Cuneiform inscriptions called the people who lived in what is now Palestine 'Palashtu,' 'Palastu,' and 'Pilistu,' beginning with the king of Assyria Adad-Nirari 111 (811BC-783 BC) in the Nimrud inscriptions. Moreover, around 1100 BC, the Peleset expanded their territory eastwards to the junction of the Jordan River. The extent of the coastal region of the land of the Peleset , from Tantur in the north to Gaza in the south, and vast inland areas, show that the land of the Peleset was 15-20 times larger than the current Gaza Strip, encompassing much of greater Tel Aviv, which grew out of and consumed the ancient Palestinian city of Jaffa, whose indigenous inhabitants were driven out en-masse in 1948 (Rotbard 2015). So you can see, all this far predates the Bar Kokhba Jewish revolt against the Romans in 132 CE. 🙂

No, the Palestinian Health Ministry is NOT run by Hamas, it is run by the Palestinian National Authority, in the West Bank. Moreover, numerous outside organisations, such as the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and John Hopkins University, and the UN, have found the Gaza Health Ministry numbers to be correct, and actually an undercount, because of the children dead under the rubble.

I will stand on the side of the Palestinians FOREVER from now on, after seeing this ghastly atrocity of a genocide happening with the complicity of US, UK, most of Europe, and Australia (sadly, as an Australian myself). Before this I had no idea about the history of ethnic cleansing and slow genocide in Palestine, same as a lot of people who will now and forevermore stand staunchly on the side of Palestine in the face of political corruption, colonisation, and resource theft. Personally, I don't believe the UN and UK had any right whatsoever to steal any of the Palestinians land and just give it to European Jews to colonise, and I have the right to say that, and I will repeat it no matter how many times Israelis try to silence me by reporting my perfectly reasonable view to YouTube. What is happening to free speech? It seems to vaporise when you criticise Israel, or question their ongoing right to colonise and ethnically cleanse the Palestinians ( or even commit genocide!) in 2024! Shame on Israel! Shame on the UK! Shame on Germany! Shame on the US!

They, They, They, Them, Them, Them.... Always this baseless slurring of the Other, of the brown people, of the Muslim! I'm white, very white, and I'm sick of these unsubstantiated claims that we are all supposed to just swallow, hook, line and sinker because it's about Them! Doesn't the government doing it realise that they sound like Hitler talking about the Jews? They really sound like that! I've had ENOUGH of it - people don't swallow that anymore !

@mskitt49 I help them whenever I can; in fact I wheeled one drunk diabetic, who couldn't walk, home, in a shopping trolley, while on my walk the other day. The police had taken away his wheelchair, claiming it was hospital property, and he had to scoot his way out of the bus on his arse, as he couldn't walk. Nice of them, huh? But we Aussies aren't navel gazers, like many from the US. We look at the big, wide world, as well.

@timspiker Well, although we are animals, and evolution wants us to survive to reproduce, we also have higher executive reasoning and can choose to overrule that basic drive. Furthermore, your thesis presupposes that we ought to make our progeny our prime reason for being, when clearly we can make them just part of it. As long as they have access to food, shelter, education and safety, they can almost look after themselves after about 8. And before that there is daycare, which does a damn good job, usually. Better than many parents are willing or able to do, anyway.

@LemarSipes Al Jazeera wasn't the only news agency that showed the absolutely massive crowd by drone. MSNBC and the BBC did, too, as did ABC Australia, to name a few. Poor try. Also, go search YouTube for the many videos of Israelis kicking, punching and spitting on Christians, like you, who are Israeli residents, or pilgrims carrying the cross in Jerusalem, or urinating on church steps, or smashing crosses in Christian cemeteries, or toppling statues of Christ, or IDF guards ordering priests to remove their crosses in public. GO ON, LOOK. the Israeli Jews despise Christians.

@BliniusSpoykoch Kissing is fine. That's an expression of intimacy, as is hugging or caressing a cheek, for example. I think that's fine, whether gay or straight, in public. It's when people cut out the area of their pants that covers their butt cheeks, or strap a dildo on and then gyrate on a float in front of a crowd that it becomes "flaunting." The former is a natural expression to one's partner, the latter is an ostentatious public display, designed to attract attention. You see, I don't need a vocabulary lesson from you, especially as you don't appear to know the meaning of the word flaunt, yourself.
