If an idol is a material object that has the image of god - and man is made in gods image- then creating a human through reproduction is creating an idol. Children are the most loved things by humans, and therefore family is a form of idol worship. Yahwhism is anti natalist. Birth and mortality are consequences if the original sin after alll, no children were born within Eden. Some Christian sects have already followed this anti materialist path to its conclusion - I forget their names but Gnosticism was somewhat like this , believing reproduction is wrong, and taking pleasure in any Fleshly pursuit is tantamount to idol worship. Your religion is very anti idol, but is descendants centric, which is a contradiction .

Sorry to butcher your religion, but I understand that you don’t necessarily belive Yahweh is literally real, but rather that there is a direction of human advancement, and as that advancement continues into our future, we slowly manifest levels of power that are essentially like Yahweh or post-Yahweh - therefore it is functionally identical to the idea that Yahweh was guiding us all along. God is real he’s just in the future, and he’s our descendants . If this is accurate, I’m wondering how you feel about representing this god as a divine child? That’s already an image with a long pedigree, and it’s seems to encapsulate your religion

Adjacent question, but what are your thoughts on why we should call God ‘he’? And if we are looking towards a trans humanist future , then should we accustom ourselves to not anyhropomorphosising god so much anymore?

I can’t quite get my head around the disdain for nature worship / nature veneration. The only thing worthy of worship is god , and as malcome said, god is beyond us so we need to worship it through humanity . So humanity - a creation of god via the processes of nature, is an acceptable conduit of god worship. But every other anima and plant is also a creation of god through gods grand industry of nature. Where exactly is the distinction between humans evolving into a suitable worship conduit and yet not nature itself, the process that created humans ? It seems partisan - humans are just better and more favored because … because this religion is being made by self aggrandizing humans.

23:30 ‘How convenient that god has a penchant for her indulgences’ But why are we sceptical about her ability to make a descision but we don’t accuse the husbands choices as being merely the indulgences of his preferences?

Is the word god an idol?

No, what precedes Pisces in this instance is Aries not Taurus. Taurus is earlier than Aries

Ok so you are totally against idolatry - even putting gold on a place of worship shackles the soul. Dosent this follow that there should be no ‘place’ of worship? There should be no words of worship, for words are just audible representations of divine concepts and therefore are an idol. There should be no interest in anything but god- but also that nothing represents god and nothing should ever try to represent god. Would this not create a world where our clothes, houses and items are nothing but functional? A world without beauty, or art. We would be disallowed from having spiritual fulfillment from living a life of faith - because living a life of faith is not itself god. We shouldn’t have any feeling other than pragmatism towards family, nature or children.

28:01 ‘ God shows his favor, historically through art science and philosophy, not wealth.’ Yet you also believe idolatry is extremely bad. How do the ancient Greeks sit amongst us? They had temple statues jewels, yet they were polytheist, yet they invented philosophy, and many sciences, and much art.
