  16. Riffing off the statistics that having a war in one own's country is devastating to the economy. I'm not defending Russia's invasion in any way, I think it is an atrocious act of imperialism, but Ukraine's geopolitical willingness to gradually fall into a conflict with Russia (the relationships were guided towards this since the fall of USSR), rather than some form of mutual agreement, was a "top notch" decision by Ukrainian government officials. What did they expect? One starts to wonder whether the government really cared about the well-being of its own citizens.
