Bingo! We have generations upon generations of cumulative bad parenting by example. Nobody knows how to be a good parent nowadays. But nobody can replace a real parent.

That's all well and good until we talk about trauma. Many parents just traumatize their children thinking that would make them resilient.

Unless someone decides to stop the cycle.

The primary goal of public schooling was always to produce standard cogwheels for the system. Always.

@BringBackClassAndMaturity They behave like that because their parents also traumatized them, and so many do rationalize that as 'building a character', instead of seeing the trauma for what it is.

Why to have babies if you can't provide necessary love to grow a healthy person?

@residentes8477 It's not 'personal morality', it's objective evaluation, when lack of love, attenion and care during childhood creates emotionally unhealty and unhappy people down the line.

@residentes8477 It wasn't about morality. It was about whether children will grow up with good mental health or not. As a mental health professional her opinion is valid. If we want mentally healthy new generations something about current parenting has got to change. If not, then it's arguably better to not have children if you can't support it's healthy development.

@HoradrimBR Maternity leave is probably not the only problem.

@HoradrimBR People neither have time, skill, mental health, resources to have children. The current economy is not supportive to having children, and arguably can't support more people. I think many factors are combined into current child birth rate decline.
