It is literally his job to pick which prosecutions to pursue. It is what all prosecutors do and why we have laws on our books that are 60 years old that have not seen a court room in 50.

This is what is done everywhere, every prosecutor picks which case to pursue! This is a political witch hunt by monsters that hate democracy and seek to crush it at every single chance they get. If prosecutors did not pick which laws to apply then Trump would be Jail and his investigators would not have resigned in disgust when the state attorney did not charge him even after all the evidence makes it clear he should.

This is a standard all prosecutors do, this is because they only have so many resources and have to pick and choose what they think they can win and how best to serve the voters that put them there. You should know this as a veteran cop, guessing you a some kind of c student throwback.

@Tinmann_77 This is the standard in our system and deciding on thresholds you use to prosecute is what we have always done. The idea that we are not prosecuting every single cannabis possession charge is outside the the standard of prosecutorial purview is deeply ignorant. Weed should be legal and the idea it's prosecution should be elevated is an election matter that should be in play when the DA is elected, not randomly after. Arguing that prosecutor's need to dig in and put more people in jail for possession or distribution is a hard argument to make if you think adults should be able to pick and choose what they imbibe. If you do not like this DA, then run a candidate you do like. Vote him out. This governor dictatorial bullshit would be an outrage to you if an elected "tough on crime prosecutor" was removed via proclamation by an executive you disliked

@sebione3576 I did, he is award winning prosecutor that won two elections. That you dislike him doesn't mean you get to subvert democracy. Vote him out, we have a system for that. He just crushed in his election against a backwards GOP flunky you would like. @karlostj4683 There are plenty of laws on the books that never get prosecuted, some of them 70 years old. Every jurisdiction has laws that never go to court. Your standard is not applied in our law and prosecutors pick and choose all the time based on what they think their voters want. It is why we elect them. This is s naked partisan political witch hunt that undermines our democracy and proves the GOP does not value it in any way. I expect this lawyer will see the governor in court and win.
