  11. I went to the Hermitage. A 2 metre tall soldier that was one of the most handsome men I had ever seen, was touting military goods. As a joke I asked if he had any Kalashnikovs to sell, and of course he did. Not a smile at all. Just plain mercantilism. Then I went to GUM and examined their stuff. Not much available. As far as I remember; amber necklaces and cameras and fur hats. Very depressing place.
