Lots of disruptive technology has emerged since the start of the industrial revolution 200 + years ago. Steam, diesel, electricity, lights, computerization, etc etc... all of it has only lead to more and more fields of employment. More jobs will come of this too... it always has....

@IgnorantC anything that reduces cost will be applied to more affordable applications. I.e. more trucks, more mechanics, tires, road repairs, taxes. Do you realize how many hours of labor it takes to put one 80,000 lb. Commercial Truck under a driver? Driving is really a simple endeavor. So is piloting a plane. The writing is on the wall. No human will perform a job better suited for a machine. The technology genie never goes back in the bottle. We have looked to save labor since we rubbed two sticks together. It's much easier to face reality.
