  5. I go to Frezno once a year... I've been traveling to Fresno on memorial weekend for 25 years for a big swing/country dance in downtown. We have seen the downtown area just deteriorate in those years. 2019 is the last year. The dance is closing down this year. We saw all the tents and homeless but didn't know meth was the big issue.

  6.  @FPOAK  you can attempt gentrification in any downtown area in the country by pumping enough tax dollars into the area. You can try to sugar coat all you want. But the fact remains that Fresno DT has hit rock bottom and is attempting a turnaround,,,, Most of the in town money has left for northern Fresno for a new start... Fresno is a long worn out central valley town with only an agriculture backbone for life blood. Fresno has far more strikes against it than going for it... as this new VICE video validates.... So you can just stop with the rah rah for Fresno. Call San Bernardino to see how it's going for them. It seems, whenever there are economic stories of good n bad, the haves and have nots....Fresno is the canary in the coal mine town....

  7.  @FPOAK  I don't know about the people living in DT Fresno... by a chance meeting, I spoke with an older landlord in DT Fresno (he inherited most of his land from his father) he owns one of those large employee paid parking lots for those incubator techy buildings in DT. He said his biggest regret was not buying land in northern Fresno when business/people started moving up there... he told me it's tough making a living in DT nowadays. And hes just collecting rent/fees... (on long paid for property) His told me hes too old to worry about it these days.
