  1.  @Rem694u2  BMW and John Deere only want their franchised dealers to be able service the products they make. New Laws are attempting to limit these design features but big manufacturers have lots of lobbyists and lawers. Its a true dog eat dog world of corporate greed.

  2. The "right to repair" has become a buzzword in the mechanical/electronic world of tractors, specialty machines, and automotive. Companies are creating systems/designs that remove/control the consumers ability to repair the products they own.
