Wolf WaYa "another important thing to consider on this case as far as someone who's mentally ill is unless something happens or someone can prove they are a danger to society or themselves you can't force them to get the therapy"then it is up to family and people around them to report when that personis exhibiting strange behavior and the police to have that person examined when they do exhibit that behaviorthere is evidence in recent shootings that the police did  not initiate a forced examination when a person exhibited  strange public behaviorfor those who can't afford therapy we should mandate the use of medsand we have Medicare  or some other public plan  that could cover it

  3. tigerpixie "the vast majority of people with mental illness are NOT violent" the violent ones are the only ones I am talking about ") Some symptoms can be controlled by therapy alone, if you get the right psychotherapy and " the problem is that many patients can't afford therapy if the person is a danger to society meds should be mandatory
