  1. This happens in the great lakes all the time. Most big cities have combined sewer systems so when it rains a lot it overwhelms the treatment plants and they release raw sewage directly into the lakes where many towns & cities also draw their drinking water from thus needing to treat the water with toxic chemicals to kill the bad stuff. Human society sucks.
