  2. I'm 60 and have observed the effect of tech and the phones on people and society over my lifetime. I also see its effect on myself. Some will argue its a good thing, a useful tool, and blah blah. It's come to the point where we dont have a choice whether to use this tech or not. Its tied into everything and unless you want to completely drop out of society and live isolated in a cave, it's unavoidable. I've observed people and society turn for the worse, the quality of life turn for the worse, and the number one reason, the center of it all, is these smartphone devices. Some will say I'm just crazy, or I'm old and stuck in the past. Whatever. Ask the Amish about quality of life and what really matters. They are a wise people and live the way they do for a reason. This is what I see and what I've experienced. Life was better before the phones, before digital, before this runaway tech. I believe it's inherently dark, anti human, and a prison for our minds and consciousness. The present path humanity is on leads nowhere good as I see it. We are getting farther away from what really matters, what it means to be human, and a good quality of life that previous generations enjoyed. I'm glad I'm older and dont have much longer to endure this modern day human existence because it has sucked all the joy out of life for me. End of rant.
