  4.  @gabemccall3523  Unfortunately, without China and Russia, the western world economy will suffer a great deal more than they can ever imagine . Bear in mind, the west is not the world. There are many more countries around the world/outside the western world, are quite happy to trade with those two countries . They also have all the Natural resources /Raw materials that the western world doesn't have, or very little, if any . Think about it .

  7.  @jamesskinner794  Well, The British took it , gained control over it from The Qing Dynasty during the 1st Opium War, and 2nd was Kowloon . I believe China loans The New territory for 99 years to The British.
