@kimhancock5965 I know I'm late but ty for spreading the word on rats. When I first started college classes, there were mice used for basic psych classes (required class nobody cared about should not subject animals cruel existence & demise, probably someone made a fortune selling mice bc they breed so easily). I took 4 mice w me over winter break bc I knew they would be killed or die at the school. They were v sweet & smart & taught me that all animals deserve compassion. Recently: my trashy neighbors leave food in their yard and attracted rats. 2 turned to 6 bc of cute babies, and then 14. Neighbor was going to kill them, so I had to buy $100 "ratinator" trap. It took a month to trap and transport them to the woods, and then leave food and water in the woods until they hopefully adjusted over 8 weeks. I hope they did okay, all animals deserve kindness (except fleas & ticks).
