What "wildlife rehab" place would not realize the poor fox had broken legs? I found a fox baby so encrusted in mange that she could barely see hear or smell, and i had to stomp when I took her food so that she could feel me coming. Even w her horrible condition, I was able to get a look at the rest of her to make sure she was okay. Our county said we aren't allowed to rescue a fox and they could come out to kill it during the week, or we had to hire someone to kill her. Long story short we met Mary at Back To The Wild rehab in Southern Maryland and she retrieved the fox, after we treated it for a week w ivermectin. Mary bathed her multiple times a day for the first few days and then kept her through the winter until spring when she got special permission from her acquaintance to release the fox on a huge protected plot of land owned by Smithsonian w some feeding stations and a river to help the fox starting out. It was also monitored for trespassers, but the land was too huge to be secured and still free for animals to roam. Kudos to everyone who helps instead of saying don't interfere with nature. Humans have already interfered to a deleterious point of no return, so we are obligated to help.

@rosalynne8792 ty! I have helped any animal that isn't dangerous or a vector. I accidentally was feeding a momma rat w 2 tiny babies, bc I thought it was an annual groundhog. I still toss bread and leave water for any animals who may need it. I made a wild mouse a home of his own, so he wouldn't awaken me at night while looking for treats. I let him outside when the weather warmed.
