Sometimes I hear people say they won't trade one addiction for another like methadone or buprenorphine, but it is nothing like that. They would be trading jail, ODs, unemployment, homelessness, broken relationships,etc for a much better life until they wean down or stay on forever. Either way, they are alive to see another day and have another chance. That is often not the case when living a precarious lifestyle associated with illicit drugs. Being on a program removes many of the dangers associated with whatever the other addiction was. So many of the people who have said they didn't want to rely on a program, are no longer here. You have to do whatever works for you💓

@philipemma2359 john smith seems like an angry girl who feels better about her own problems and issues if she can put down homeless addicts on skid row. Seems rather pathetic.

I'm confused by what your idea of well spoken might be. Because she speaks normal English w only a few double negatives and slang? She made it to middle school, where they teach correct basic English and literature. As I'm typing, I'm listening to her examples of poor grammar and pronunciation "I don't have to do nothing" "supposably (sic)" "he don't have to..." and similar aren't exactly well-spoken by most definitions (except perhaps ESL or uneducated speakers).

Yes, just saying what she thinks people want to hear or what will elicit compassion resulting in money. She 5ook his generosity for stupidity. If he wants to help her, then anything that happens is on him bc he was already played and knows she's a cap queen. She had shorts saying that it isn't what people think and she will tell everyone. That was months ago, still no video explaining her bs.

Sometimes we need to reach out to those who are like we were as kids. I have had nursing jobs at juvenile justice where MANY of the kids do not list bio parents as their emergency contact or their number one adult, it is usually a sibling or an adult who stepped in as a mentor. I'm trying to save a neighborhood kid near my school. He's only a few years younger than me, but he dropped out in middle school. I had a tough teacher who forced me to take college credits in highschool, so now I'm not yet 21 but am an RN who is going to med school. My Mother would never go to any of my graduations, so I never will bother to attend even though I'm still forced to pay for Commencement fees. My mother doesn't even know what I'm in school for.

@life_withl have you read the book: Piece Of Cake? It is almost identical to this girl's story and many of our own stories. The little girl was nicknamed Cupcake and she was ripped from her stepfather by fostercare system of California. It is an excellent story that I finished in no time bc I couldn't put it down. Asriah should read it as an example of how it's done.
