@RWAsur the checkbook thing isn't that uncommon for older people. I had a lady pass away and her elderly husband wouldn't leave her body bc he said he would miss her and couldn't function without her. He had worked, while she did all the cooking, cleaning, bills: he didn't know who to pay for the electric. It was v sad esp since the hospital ignored what the obvious problem was, until too late (constipation/blockage). It was one of the few that sticks w me .

@RWAsur it seems even odder bc it is basic math, no algebra and usually nothing beyond addition /subtraction. I'm almost completely math illiterate but can memorize formulas necessary for simple dosage equations or IV rates. Was she able to figure out the cost of taxes or how much something costs with a percentage price reduction? Did she go to a real school as a kid? I'm genuinely curious and fascinated by the reasons some people have for not being allowed to go to school or educate themselves eg trafficked by their own mother.
